Mass Effect 2 (pg. 2)

about 3 hours into Mass Effect 1. Good game thus far. Are weapons/armor very deep in this game or should I expect to keep the same setup for several hours at a time? I picked up an some armor and a pistol on Eden and haven't switched it yet. Also, my income is so sparse (50 credits here and there) I can't really afford anything in the shops just yet.

I've been playing Final Fantasy XI with my wife for the past year and now I'm just addicted to RPGs with items of rarity (Borderlands has been very good to me). Does ME have collectible items/equips?

I can't believe how in-depth this world is. Every race has it's own history in the journal, as well as worlds, governments, vehicles, technologies, myths, events, etc.

The items and money could have been done better mate. At the beggining you have hardly anything and it takes ages to get some kick ass stuff. Then as you progress you get overwhelmed by items.

I think I finished with about 8 million credits (lol!), a shotgun that does 324 damage with 90% accuracy and medium human armour with about 500 shields.
In other words, I could pretty much solo 100 people by myself and kill multiple people in one shot.

That's typical in Bioware games having very developed storylines/histories of the characters. As soon as I get through Torchlight I'm starting ME. If u haven't played kotor u must play those and Dragon Age is awesome as well.

I'd be more excited if it didn't mean I finally have to get around to buying that new pc in order to play this.

yet another thread on that to come in the near future. :p

Jeez, how old is your PC? ME 1 looked like dog, id be surprised if you couldn’t run this.

lol, for real dude. The blur effect is annoying as too, but good story.
pkcRAISTLIN
Yeah, thank god for the story!! Gameplay was fun too, but I couldn’t believe they didn’t bother to tighten the textures up for PC release. Ick.

4 years? something like that.

I can run 1 just fine, but, apparently, my athlon 64 won't cut it for 2. :p

by the way, ME 1 is a $9.95 download on EA right now.

seriously? I don’t understand why the reqs would be much different, given that the 360’s tech is 7 years old.

just the processor, iirc. my vid card, memory, etc. are all fine, but it's a 3500, ffs.

also, add 'the graphics actually improve over time, because the hardware can' to your pc superiority repertoire.

pkcRAISTLIN
Honestly, id try the game before you spend any money (unless of course you were spending it anyway!) if it can run on the 360 I reckon you should be fine. Unless of course bioware are actually making 2 different games, which they sure as didn’t for the first one :(

Dear lord.....
ME2 is optimised so that it looks better and yet it actually runs better. If you could run ME1, ME2 will be fine.

I ran it on an old mobile 7950GTX with relative ease.
