Damm i tell you you guys in the states get some cheap audio gear! I have been buying everything from the states even when paying around $100 Us for postage I still save around $400 especially on these particualr items
i picked up new a motu 828Mk3 and a motu mircolite, both for near $1000us inc postage. bloody crazy :eyespop:
Here in Aus, $1250-1400 for the Mk3 and around $300 for the Microlite
Super happy :tongue2
Thought I would share that with you |

Where abouts did you buy from in the states? I can't say I own much gear, but what I do have was bought from Thomann.de. They seemed reasonable with price, and they offer a 3 year warranty.
I ask this because I'm planning on picking up a MOTU interface at some point! |

dv247 now offer a 4 year warranty on all new gear and are almost always cheaper than Thomman. Depends on the £/€ exchange but Thomann have never been cheaper for anything i've bought in the last year. |

Yea, mostly since the low pound since beginning this year I guess Thomann isn't really competing with dv247 anymore...
Thomann is more interesting for me though because it's easier dealing with them regarding tax-related stuff (they've got a dutch VAT number so I can just deduct their tax as if bought the product in the Netherlands). |

sweetwater.com was the place, they have some real cheap stuff and all new. they generally go for around 790us the motu mk3's but he did a package deal for the both. And seriously even with postage, usually gets to where i am in a week, which cost as i said 100us i still saved just on 400 Australian dollars, shizzzam!
damm F&*k'n aussie taxes
anywho look around, plenty of cheap competative audio gear sellers out there, Novamusic is another one with some stuff, Proaudiostar in NY i think is another |

EVERY currency is doing better than the US dollar at the moment! :( :stongue:
Congrats on the 828mk3 - I love my mkII and I have no doubt you'll love your mk3! |

It's not the U.S. that's cheap, it's Australia that's ridiculously expensive. Sweetwater isn't generally known for their killer deals.
I love my mkII also but unfortunately it doesn't play nice with Vista x64. I'm hoping that Win7 fixes that. |

yeah i noticed some time ago Cryo that you had a mk2, I was assuming you didnt have any problems with it, considering motu from what I have heard seem to run better with Mac, hence digi's prob i guess
Digi damm the economy mate thats all i can say! But one thing to add thank god for the variations that do exist between countries on costs...! And, on the subject of Win7 on a couple of other forums it seems to be ironing some of the problems, though its still early days |
