Looking forward to it. Wish I could have made it, but gluttony got the better of me & I was simply too food drunk to contemplate any outing. I have a love/hate relationship with dinner parties lol.

Just finished my breakfast so I thought I'd give my two cents ;)
Dave S and I got there around 11pm and walked right in. No lines etc., and we figured that anyways since it was kinda early. However, after a brief stop at the coat check, I noticed Stone Lounge was pretty damn busy for 11pm. VERY happily surprised.
30 minutes later the tallest man in this scene walked through the doors (no, not Brad Copeland): MikeyN!!! Great seeing you man. You were cutting a rug right from the get-go, and rightly so. Neil was on point for the entire night...holy (well, at least for the 4 out of 5 hours that I witnessed).
He built up Stone Lounge so well last night. It was amazing! I particularly enjoyed how he would actually break the build with the odd track to slow it down. Perfect example of this (and my favourite track of the night) was when he dropped STIMMING - MELODICA (on Joris Voorn's Green Label). That's the in sickest track I've heard out in a while :gsmile:
By around midnight the place was totally filling up, and was completely rammed by 1am. The entire place was dancing. I spotted no real wall flowers at this event, which is such a great thing to see. As usual, the bar service at Stone Lounge is second to none. That girl runs a tight ship down there, and is by far the best tender I've met in years.
Well done Fabricated. This was yet another memorable night put on by a hard working local crew. Bring on January!
Cheers,

my review:
I wish I wasn't as drunk as I was, because the party was going off, and I'd like to be able to recall it a little better.

I know I said I would get a review done earlier today, but I'm waiting for all the videos to finish uploading, ALL 15 of them!!!! 6 left!
Wow...I'm still in awe, I was so impressed. I can't believe it was recorded too! I hope all of it gets released, I'd love to know what I missed in the last two hours!

Hahahahahaha! "not Brad Copeland"!!!! LOL!
Wow, I have so much to say, but I don't even know where to start. I really don't have the words for how impressive Neil was...
A friend and I both got in to Stone Lounge just before 11, right on time for free cover! Awesome! Once we were inside I fell in love with what I was hearing instantly. I immediately knew this was going to be a good night.
He played some great deep house in the beginning of the night, it sounded so warm, and had tons of character. The sound filled the space so nicely. Although it wasn't loud in the beginning of the night, it still felt so enveloping.
There's so much to describe, there's just so much "personality" in everything he played. I can't even look at his set on a track-by-track basis, or by segmenting the night, its a perfect example of the saying "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts". It was musical synergy.
Neil's set was so deep, sexy, funky, groovy, jazzy, housey, techy, proggy, spacey, agressive, it had attitude at times and was so uplifting at other times.
Neil threw down some of the sickest, most twisted, spacey buildups that just made the place go wild, and he used mixer trickery to make you think the peak of the track was coming, and then he would just build it up more.
His set had some great instrumental moments too. I recall turning to someone dancing beside me and saying "How could anyone not love music with instruments like this!". Whenever I heard a piano in his set I flipped. I ing love instruments in house music.
His set really was a journey... There were times where I thought how great this would be to listen to on a beach, or in a nice upscale bar, or even while having sex! Such a journey, from start to finish, and such a diverse sound! There was so much variety, but every track worked harmoniously with the next.
Watching Neil work the decks...Oh. My. God. He's always busy. I love seeing that. He follows the 'mood' of the music he doesn't just stand there and sync up the tracks with his laptop. As irGo pointed out, he had some great tricks up his sleeve. The mixing was spot on every time. Everything flowed so naturally.
Everyone at Stone Lounge is so friendly and open, and everyone is there to have a great time. The sound is great, and it's focused on the dancefloor, so if you wanted to hang out and have a conversation with some friends on the couches along the sidelines, you can easily do so without shouting eachother. Such a cozy, comfy, environment. It really is like having a stupidly awesome party in your best friend's basement.
I can't wait for the next Fabricated event!
I almost didn't go, but I'm so glad I did. I definitely made the right choice.
Also... Neil recorded his set, hopefully it gets released, I would love to relive those hours of my life over and over and over again.
Now time for some MikeyTV!
irGo, the last video is the first minute and a half of MELODICA...
irGO
wow Mikey, you're the media king eh?!?!? Thanks for the snippit of Melodica. Fantastic.
As I stated in a previous post, bring on January Fabricated!
Hope to see you there again Mikey :)

dude, where were you? I was on the lookout for you but you were a no-show. Now granted, my visual range might have been limited to the row of people directly in front of me at all times due to the decadent amount of alcohol I consumed prior to arrival, but I was still on the lookout!
Anyways, you'd better not cop-out on NYD, cuz I'll see you there instead.
