CM posted two mixes, one done in Reason 4 and one on a Protools HD rig to see if people could tell the difference. Is it just me, or does mix B sound louder than mix A? |

I can't tell. Went back and forth like 10 times. Its possible B is louder, but it seems very sight if it is, slight enough to be placebo too I think :) |

Dude, are you serious? You really couldn't tell if there's a difference between them?
I'm not having a go Robby - but in the 10 seconds I A/B them there were very serious differences. For instance B being accentuated on the timbre and slightly, but noticeably (or at least perceivably) louder.
Honestly, this makes me wonder about your posts complaining about you stuff not sounding the way you want it - if you can't hear the differences in this, then I suggest getting one of the ear training programs or do a lot more listening. |

i did the golden ear audio program thing every day for a year or two when i started producing. Great ear training exercises. Maybe you should check it out robbie. Take 30 minutes every day and you will quickly be able to hear these things. |

Ear training programs? I'm new to production and would love something like that. Can you please elaborate?
Thanks! |

Cam - you live in Toronto rught?
Go enroll in to the Harris Institute.
It was an incredible course (PEP) and the level of study will make a full blown engineer and producer. I have never had a better educational experience. I promise you it will be the best decision you ever make if you really want to get serious. |

That was the one I was thinking of but wasn't sure if it's still available. Did you find it useful? |

Yeah B is louder than A therefore it automatically sounds better.
Were these tracks "created" in the different sequencers or just mixed i wonder? |

Mix A just sounds very muddled and alot of things get lost in the mix, I do say mix B sounds rather harsh, but on the other hand its more clear and defined. |
