Ableton Live 8 / Reason 4 Rewire Automation Problem

| I have Reason 4 Rewired into Ableton Live 8. I insert a midi track in Ableton to use the NNXT external instrument in Reason. I want Live's side chain effect on the instrument so I add an auto filter with side chain enabled into the midi track. The effect doesn't work if the notes are triggered in Reason's piano roll, but adding them to Live's piano roll it works fine. The problem is when I tweak any midi knobs on my midi controller (filter, attack, release, etc.) it automatically records the triggering into the NNXT instrument. Both Live and Reason automation is disabled, but I can't find how its recording. Does anyone know how to disable it? |

There some thing called Manual, Reason and LIve has one Read it! :D |

| Right. They should just get rid of the forums in that case, Mr. RTFM. Just kidding. In due time someone will post what he needs to do, but perhaps he could heed your advice and check out the manual or google it, which I'm sure he is. But I mean, if you can't help him, don't tell him to him to RTFM |

It may sound hard but it may be the best thing for this guy to do!
I love to Read Manuals!
I Sleep next to a Roalnd D2 groovebox Manual and i had this groovebox for like 7 years and i just now learn how to use the sequencer on my d2 to control my others synth and other gear it so sexy!
And i love to Read the Reason 4 Manual to Learn and to me its so much fun! |

| I'm too lazy to dive into the manual at this time. I think this would be a common exercise among EDM producers and I figured someone has gone through this before. I haven't found anything about it on Google. I messed around with it in different variations but I've had no success. It has something to do with Live because it happens with live devices too. |

I hate to bust balls but there are about a million and 1 things I've learned on my own, that were either not in the manual at all, or worded in a very vague and ambigous way, to the point where you didn't even know you were reading the solution.
Manuals do help, but nothing like someone who knows wtf they are doing. |

Look in the manual index for Automation and Rewire!

I feel the same about my D2 Manual!
And i Learn on my own to and still learning,
I guess the fun part is getting there to where i want get!

| I came here for aid to make the creative process better and more enjoyable, not a tech support nightmare. Anyhow after tinkering around I found a solution that works but it's not what I want. I applied the compressor sidechain to replace the auto filter. |

I would love to help you but my pc is to slow to run Live Rewired to Reason 4!
But i have Read the manual! |
