well i was getting good feedback :)

they just were telling me it wasn't ready for a release, so couldn't have been that bad.

How good are the 700's to the 7506's?

to be honest, all of my productions are done on a pair of no-name sears home-theatre speakers that were bought second-hand from my friend's mom. i swear they sound decent, and my tracks don't sound like , as far as i'm concerned.

sometimes i listen to and work with my mix through a pair of rubber-surround earbuds too. those are obviously very bass-heavy, but i get a better idea of how the panning sounds in my track with a pair of headphones. sure, down the road i'll need a decent pair of studio monitors, but for right now, what i have does the trick.

people like to talk about the v700's but i personally think they sound good. i would comfortably use them for production and not worry about the finished product sounding inaccurate. 7506's sound better though, imo, and are cheaper.

edit: i remember the first time i used v700s and 7506s. my old roommate (d-res) owned a pair of v700s while owned a pair of RPDH-1200s. the 1200s are very mid-heavy, are uncomfortable, and are ing heavy as . it's like wearing a brick tightly strapped to your head. my ears are kinda big, so they ing ACHED after wearing them for more than an hour. the v700s sounded very clear, were a little bass-heavy (i think, it's been a while) but were comfortable and accurate.

later on, i had a party at my house with a bunch of mwta's, i used lucid's 7506's while tripping on mushrooms. i swear, i thought they sounded ing amazing. i ended up borrowing them for like, a week after that to finish up a mix i was working on at the time. even after the psychedelic episode, they sounded amazing. very clear, very accurate, and the headphones are pretty lightweight. that's the only way i can describe its sound. lol

my review on the 700s would be that they have good mids, mid highs and highs. but, i cant trust the lows too much, although the frequency response is there, its not really that tight.
floyd741
you should have gotten MDR-7506's instead

or better yet AKG K240

TBH, that can be said for most closed back heaphones that are decent - bass response is NEVER going to be accurate on them.

I had the 700's for DJing and loved them - very clear, not as clinical as the senn HD25 (and more comfy) but eventually got the MDR7509HD - If you think the 700's are good, then the 7509HD's will blow your mind.

In fact I hear details on them that don't represent on most good monitor systems. In some cases I've learnt to relax about certain things I hear on them.

Congrats!

they're pretty darn good to mix on.

mix(DJ), yes.

mix(Produce), not so great but still better than what he had.
