hello there!!!
This is a track that i recently completed in FL
i think it could use some more edits on the mix but it sounds pretty nice
i was going for a bit of a mau5ish feel with the melody
tell me what you think about it
and i will make changes where i need to!!!

Hi Ekco,

I like the first 2 minutes of the track. A nice floating rhythm carried by that recognizable square-osc tune. The background goes along very nice with it. Well done.

After 2 minutes my interest faded. You're gonna need something to keep it interesting. I wouldn't mess with the basic sound or melody that you use from the beginning, but add things on top of it in the later part of the track..? Or a vocal

greetings
DjEkco
thanks for the reply man
this was actually the kind of track i would consider having vocals
over it
but i will probably add a arp over to go along with the pad
and im not really sure what else at the moment
DjEkco
any other suggestions?

Hi ekco,

hmmm..not simple. I guess you need a creative impulse.. I'm not so sure what could finish the later part of the track..

I do remain confident that a vocal and other sonic add-ons would complete it. But maybe I was too fast when i said you shouldn't alter the melody after 2'30". In this version you do alter it slightly by changing the notes of the square-osc tune almost randomly from 1'50", maybe you're blocking your options by doing this (because it gets complicated)? I do like the variation you created with the bass and strings from 1'50" and further. Maybe you could try to do more of that after the break? Giving the melody a subtle twist after the break?

But hey man, I really don't know. You're the artist.

PS: i would appreciate your comments on a track i posted today. Have a listen at:

guess its time for a name change.
have no idea what to call myself
EDIT: so far i have added a arp to the track at about halfway so it can complement the pad
also added a new synth pattern to go along with the hook of the song
one day there might be some vocals on this
until then it remains a instrumental.
will upload in a sec

Nicely done. It complements the song well.

I like the melodic variation between 2'16" and 2'30". Maybe (?) it's worth a try to copy and paste this alternative pattern a few times in stead of playing it once. This specific piece of your song is somewhat different from the previous loops in the song, and has a nice crescendo feeling in it. Now, after the point of 2'30 you jump back to the initial pattern of the buildup, which is surely very ok, but maybe creating a bit of variation would be even better?

grts!
