On Friday, January 15, INCOGNITO returns from its 1st Global Tour and fires its first offering in 2010 by proudly presenting FAIRMONT aka JAKE FAIRLEY -Live- (Border Community, Kompakt, Dumb Unit, Toronto/Berlin).
FAIRMONT aka JAKE FAIRLEY's releases on James Holden’s influential Border Community imprint, Jeremy Caulfield's Dumb Unit, Traum, Sender and others, are stunning showcases of the true depth and variety of his talents. His almost 30 records in total, 100+ songs and 4 LPs albums show his trademark driving analogue machine-funk with woozy, warm interludes, intimate vocals and drugged-out highs, fused with a touch of the experimental.
The simplest way to say it is his music is so cutting edge that it can only be described as stretching minimal techno into rock, into shoegaze, to trance to electro to spacy melodic synths and of course, his signature, — very personal, heartfelt lyrics.

damn. one thing i miss about LA are the Incognito parties. Probably one of the best parties of the week.

BSPF = bog standard prog fodder, all those prog house producers/djs that all sounded the same spawned from the Sash & Dig/Steve Lawler/Danny Howells style of prog house brought on during the Twilo years and Delta Heavy tour.
BSTF = bog standard techno fodder, same thing different sound. Just nameless boring techno that all sounds like Richie Hawtin and Dubfire on a good day.
