Brodeur is still the best goalie in the league and probably in the game right now (yes, at age 38). I can't see how he doesn't start. |

I'm optimistic. I think that goaltending is our biggest advantage, followed by a very solid defense-corp. Markov is a beast on the Russians though.
I think our forwards stack up well against the Russians, I think their top 2 lines beat ours (though Crosby and the San Jose don't look too shabby at all), but our 3rd and 4th lines should be stronger than theirs. Champion teams usually win because their bottom players outshine the other team's.
Ovechkin and Malkin can win games on their own, but so can Crosby and Brodeur (who only seems to get better with age, look at the year he's having!).
It's gonna be an awesome Olympics, either way. So many good players are going to be on the Ice in REAL competition, not some slack, half-assed All-Star game. |

The us-can game was BS... i mean there were way more penalties againts Canada and not enough against the Americans...
there was one play that outraged me.. when the american forward butt checked Brodeur.. i was stunned that there was no goalie interference..
i have to say that was some shiet reffin |

with shot totals 45 to (17-20 roughly) im pretty sure canada wanted this more than the us. but was stopped because of miller.
if it was any other goalie im sure canada wouldve won. but i wouldnt say that canada wanted this game any less than the us. |

the empty net goal shows how much usa wanted this.. |

| If anything lossing to the US was a good thing. We had to go to overtime vs the swiss who we should have smoked. I think this will put some fire under their asses to play at their best for the rest of the games. |

Yeah we really should have killed the Swiss.
They're team is mostly made up of AHL level players.
Hiller played amazing in that game, though. |

If these professionals need a loss to get a fire lit under their ass then they shouldn't be playing in this tournament. |

Agree. Canada is over confident they don't have the hunger some of the other teams have. Canada is also at a disadvantage because every team in the tournament really wants to beat them. So pretty much if we don't play like our lives depend on it.... no gold. |
