Can Komplexer sound like a real Waldorf Q?
I don't have a Q but i want one but i want to save some Money and try this VST.
Also I still need to read the manual, but after playing with this beast I can see I have alot of reading to do!
I can't get it to work with my midi keyboard just yet but the sounds that come out this ****** are AWESOME!!

Terratec are a German company known primarily for their audio interfaces. One of their more intriguing products was a soundcard with the guts of a Waldorf Microwave on board. Terratec Producer, their pro music division, continue the Teutonic cloning with Komplexer VST, a soft-synth version of the Waldorf Micro Q wavetable synth. While not an exact copy of the hardware synth, it is close enough that it will load in voice information and make a good stab at replicating it. There are a few differences, but the wavetables are identical except that Komplexer uses resynthesis to round off the transitions between the samples rather than discretely stepping between them. |

| My understanding is that Komplexer is no longer available because Waldorf purchased the synth or the company (TerraTec) and used it as the basis for Largo. So to get the new version, you'd just buy Largo. |

No problem, but I should emphasize that you shouldn't quote me on that information because it's mostly just word-of-mouth...errr..internet. But regardless, Largo is pretty widely recognized as being virtually identical to Komplexer (plus some additional features) and TerraTec apparently stopped distributing Komplexer a short while before Largo was released, so....;) |

I have a Q. I'm sure Largo does not sound like my Q. :P Although funcitionally they're identical, I believe. Except for maybe some filter and/or FX types.
BUT, I know Komplexor could load up Q patches so I'm sure Largo can, as well. I'm most likely going to be doing a Q bank at some point in the future, so it'll be fun to compare the Q and Largo at some point ... |

I remember komplexer being identical to largo in every way excluding the effects section. post some examples of the Q vs Largo starting with balanced init sawtooth patches and edit them from that point. |

Correct. I'll try installing their demo when I'm ready... it wont' be for a while. UNtil then, It's a safe bet that largo sounds quite different. |
