lol you have it all wrong.

spending $$$ to party in miami and see pretty much every dj i'd like to possibly see (some which never make their way to Toronto) in a multitude of new venues both indoors and the sunny outdoors (the latter being especially key) all whilst being able to relax by the ocean === yes

spending $0 to go to the same clubs to see the same djs and same people in boring cold sterile toronto === no

yea cant wait for miami its going to be sick!!!

ps. have fun freezing your ass off in toronto while we are all sipping mojitos in the sun :disbelief

thats where you and are different.
i HATE outdoor parties (beach or pool or whatever). i only like events held within a nightclub. if i am going to go to an outdoor party then it better be at night with nice lighting so i feel like i am in a club.

it can be pricey / pricer then that if you want it to be. having said that you can also do it for alot less money than that as well if you are smart / book early / know where to look / book etc.

Ultra is nothing more than a colossal waste of time and effort. If you insist on going, do not buy advanced tickets as you'll spend more time waiting in the will-call ticket pick up line (3 ing hours the last time I was there), while people buying on the day of will be paying $10 more than you to walk right in.

Other things that confirmed that I'll never go back to Ultra:
-45 minute drink line-ups
-average of 1 hour set times, which is far too short if you actually want to see someone give a proper performance
-the entire park is essentially flat, meaning that the main stages have a sea of people fanned out around them, which renders post sunset navigation between the tents an utter cluster as you need to wade through these areas
-ever paid $5USD for a piss-warm bottle of water after standing in line for 30 minutes just to then have to line up for another 15 while you attempt to locate a moderately usable porto-john? You will at Ultra

Do yourself a favour: map out your clubbing schedule and on the day of Ultra, grab a few clothes that need to be washed and head over to the Laundry Bar by Lincoln Mall. Ever partied while doing your laundry? You will there.

Hai guise!

I'm definately going can someone tell me:

  • Breakdown of cost. (hotel/tickets{we're driving up})
  • Better to drive/bus/plane?
  • What DJ's are going to be there?

I saw hotels as low as CAD $120/nt near the park but will be around $500/nt in the south beach.
Airfare $460 direct flight (round trip)-lowest i've seen.
We calculated that it's cheaper to drive than to fly but of course will take more than 24hrs to drive from T dot. We would do it if we have more people to go w/- so far it's just two of us.
I don't think they released the lineup yet for this year but i've heard that it's not really different than the previous years' lineup (plus minus couple of DJ's).
There's a lot of info. under 'ultra music festival' forum - check it out!
Hope this helps

This is exactly what I imagined ultra to be like....I think I'll stick to pool parties that are walking distance from my hotel at wmc...seems like more fun minus the hassle of Ultra.

I've been dying to go for years, but due to school it won't work. When I finally have some time for another vacation, I'm gonna hit up Ibiza again...and then finally WMC.
