Sorry PKC but I have to school you now. Prince Phillip's correct royal title would be Duke Phillip. He is referred to as Prince Phillip only in error. While Phillip was born the prince of both Denmark and Greece he renounced those titles in 1947; subsequently, he is no longer a prince; however, the world media continued to call him that even after he renounced those titles. |

sorry moral hazard but could you quote the post where i called him a prince? remember, we have the same commonwealth history brother :p
i simply pointed out that phillip is married to the queen and isn't a king. had you asked me to guess, yes i would've said he was a duke, despite being referred to as prince phillip ;) |

Sorry, I was addressing the entire discussion between you and IGK. My answer was meant to explain why Phillip is not referred to as king... essentially because he isn't the king of anything. I do actually quite like one of his titles "consort to the Queen." What a great title, it might as well be "dude who stuffs Regina"
Also, just for interest sake... do know that Phillip is considered a god by a religious group? |

One of their legends prophesises that the pale skinned son of one of their gods going to a far off land and marrying a very powerful woman. Shortly after Phillip married Elizabeth a breakaway group from that religion decided that Phillip must be the son of this god.
