I noticed when connecting the cdj mkiii through digital connection the sound/levels are lower than when connecting through the analog connection, why would this be? and what is your choice to use??
edit : i should add that these are connecting to a dj 800 |

Don't really understand why it's important, just use your gain control to adjust the volume of whichever channel you're working with.
My choice: digital when available. |

the fewer times a signal has to be converted from digital to analog and vise versa, the fewer chances for sound quality loss
ideally, you'd go straight digital from your cdj through the digital mixer and digital in to your computer |

But the DJM-800 is digital, so you have to use the DAC in the CDJ to go analog into the mixer, the mixer has to convert that back to digital, and then analog again out the mains. Keep the signal intact and go digital. |

| is the actual mixer digital? damn that sucks (maybe???). ok then i buy the digital statement, less DAC and ADC and DAC and ADC again. But i kind of doubt its digital all the way. |

Yes it is. The entire DJM-800's signal path is entirely digital. |
