Have you read the book experience economy? Because you practically summed up its entire premise. Every product out there, from the iPod to an Armin concert should be engineered to hit the notes you just talked about. It's not just the music--that's the product--but the environment, the vibe, the spectacle that makes the experience. Consumers buy experiences, not products...otherwise we'd just download ASOT. So I guess the thing is--many people are satisfied with the experience brought by decadence and Armin, while others are not. Does that mean it comes down to taste?
Then again, for many of us, the music HAS to be on, or it doesn't matter what fluff goes on around it. The product must deliver on its promise, otherwise, it cancels out the whole experience. It should be noted, consumers over exposed to an experience grow bored, and need new ones (the iPhone craze won't last forever--Apple is already working on the next big thing). |

As for the ASOT hype... no one can deny what a great marketing venue for the Koolhaus & Guvernment complex. The amount of people ASOT reaches, and Toronto being the first hop... there's marketing value there fo' sho'. Going to be something neat to be part of too.

Is there any ticket info out yet for this?
I see ticketmaster-livenation already has tickets listed (didn't check if they're on sale yet) for NYC but nothing there for 'guvernment' as a venue nothing for 'armin van buuren' in 'toronto' and nothing under 'decadence'. |

| I'LL leave my comments at the Door about Armin on this one but only thing that would shock and awe me that could be added to the Lineup would have to be Sander Van Doorn, Paul Van Dyk and def would like to see Ashley Walbridge |
