Oh please, the wankers put that boat there fully expecting it to get hit. They've pulled this trick before, they put their boats in a position where collision is basically unavoidable and then blame the Japanese.
Big lumbering whaling boat or small fast agile speedboat - who do you think has more chance of avoiding the collision? If the whaling boat captain actually managed to line up and deliberately hit said small, fast, agile speedboat, he's got some skills.
I also called it when the original thread about the protesters buying this boat popped up here, that I was expecting them to put it in a position where it would get damaged.
I don't agree with whaling, but I certainly don't agree with how those protesters conduct themselves.

All too true...if they wanted to get away they could have, i dont know how agile that small boat was but i imagine that it can run circles around the big whaling boat and that it would have taken them seconds to turn it just enough to avoid getting hit. And then you have a big massive whaling ship that looks like it has some decent sped to it as well which means it takes ages to turn and even longer to stop.
Its like cutting off a huge fully loaded trailor truck with your small sports car and then blaming the driver of the truck because he wasnt able to slow down his rig in time to avoid hitting you, even if the only thing you needed to do to avoid the accdent is step on the gas for half a second.
