I've always wondered...how is it that the DJ does not know more than the day of that they're not allowed into the country?

... or if the club releases the info at the last possible minute so that people won't change their mind and go elsewhere with their business....

I hate winter soooooo much.

maybe living outside the city is fine (except for driving), because winter remains pretty and "white", there's skiing and other sports.

downtown = brown dreary mess within hours (or sooner) of a snowfall. yuck.

how do I keep warm? I try to remain indoors, lol.

Unethical for sure if that were to happen...but in this case, the flight was early afternoon, and upon attempting to board was when the issues were discovered. Facebook, txt and e-vites reflected the cancellation immediately. The organizers were sorely disappointed, to say the least, and no cover was charged at the door.

And I'm thinking that I'm not really a big fan of Younan's latest release, Yeah Ha, lol...but DEFINITELY was disappointed he didn't show last night. :(

Right now I am looking at a condo that is across the street from the PATH, so I would only have to go outside for about 10 seconds to walk to work. :D

But how do you leave it til you get on the flight to realize that you don't have your paperwork in order?

That's like saying oops, I got to the border and my passport had expired. Well, it should have been thought of long before you got to the border! (or on the plane, in this case.)

i think sometimes they decide not to get a work visa and just cross the border with a cd binder and they end up getting denied entry at the airport. i know someone that this has happened to and the customs officers at the airport even had the club flyer with their name on it. it was a shame for them to miss their gig but i fully LOL'd when i heard about it.

Skipper & jay, yeah, totally agreed...it's kind of a 'wtf didn't you get that in order PRIOR'.. sucks for the organizers and for the fans. Could have been unforeseen, but maybe could have been prepped for too.

Edit: Actually, come to think of it--though a little different--I sponsored someone immigrating to Canada and OFTEN we had difficulties crossing the border, even with extensive work to ensure all paperwork was perfect. Crossing the border is always subject to a custom officer's discretion.

At any rate, LOL was a great little place to hang last night. Addy & Cam ripped it up. Cam dropped this new tribal track I hadn't yet heard...SIC! parking in college st area, Little Italy, SUCKS though.
