Wow, this card is worth every cent.

Where did you get it? How much did you pay? What games are you running, how much RAM and what CPU?

lol, sorry for the inquisition, but I'm always interested in this stuff.

I have to admit the eyefinity feature has me itching to splurge a bit.

I got the Sapphire version for $405, from Newegg. 4gb ram, Athlon 64 FX 55 CPU watercooled and overclocked to 2890Mhz, Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Running Dirt 2 that came with it which is awesome. Great gameplay as well as pretty. Bioshock, Mass Effect, Portal, Some RTS and other FPS.

jesus dude, that's skynet right there.

I recently downgraded from a 4870 to a 3870.. Even a 4870 was overkill for me.. The 3870 and a 3Ghz Core 2 still maxes out everything I throw at it (World in Conflict, Company of Heroes, Bioshock, Team Fortress 2, COD5, Serious Sam HD, L4D2, etc)

since i play on a 1080i tv, my 8800 is still raping.

if games continue cross-platform development (and i see no reason why they wouldn't) my 3 year old PC will live til the end of the latest console generation easily. not too shabby for $2K AU.

she still feels like a ninja to me :)

Still a single core though, but fast. Can't run Crysis even though the video card can run it maxed, lol. Games that don't need multiple core CPU's it runs perfectly.

crysis doesn't need multi core.
I was able to get it running on a 2ghz Athlon XP 2400+

also, what kind of frames are you lot getting at your "max out" benchmarks? If there's something that annoys me about the consoles, its the beautiful games that drop down to 15-20 fps in high action. I sold my PS3 and given up on my 360.

and how big is your PSU?

700W PSU. Dirt 2 I'm getting 38-40fps @2048x1152 resolution maxed out settings. I think the cpu is bottle necking the card, hehe. System requirements I saw for Crysis and win 7 were 3.2Ghz, and lower for Xp. When I load up the game, it's soooo slow and glitchy in the menu, and I can't even start the game either. It's a legit copy, purchased through steam. Any ideas how to get it going? I use my PS3 and a program called PS3 media Center to stream all the content I want, and it converts on the fly so it plays all file types. Love it.

Well I'm installing Crysis Warhead now...maybe this one will work.

Wow what a waste man..Your CPU is a HUGE bottleneck. Your FPS will probably triple with a dual core @ the same speed.

For me warhead ran somewhat slower than the original. But supposedly it was optimized. :conf:
