Did you change your style?
did you change your set up?

or were you like me.
just pissed around and didn't actually do anything worth noting. |

It went well...
* Didnt spent as much time as i wanted to (to much djing/work/random stuff popped up)
*Got my macbook pro (music ONLY computer)
*Bought logic pro (now use LP and Ableton)
*Had many AHA! moments and learned a lot...
*Got a little bit closer to happy with a track to give away...
*Got some good advice/criticism for my tracks from producers i repect...
This year,
*Will spend more time on music...
*Wont change setup too much (try to learn what i have)
*Going to play guitar to break up the EDM... (just for fun)
*Hopefully show some labels a track/EP that im happy with... |

i stopped drinking for 5 and a half months and it cleared my brain up so i could focus on production. and i made the best songs ive ever made. i managed to get one signed with olympik and some more with bonzai.
I bought the new logic
a new sub monitor
a second comp screen
Omnisphere
Novation x station
A lot of vocal recording gear
LOTS of sample packs
And soft synths haha
i bought a new virus ti2 which (is one of the best things ive done) it significantly improved my music. just what I needed. as im not one of those people who think you need to design your own patches to be a artist...
I feel that if you can use a patch (ofcourse change it to fit the song) but use it in a way that's creative..
I think that’s fine.
Don’t get me wrong I would LOVE to be able to make my own sounds.
Well I can make basic supersaws/plucks etc. but really intricate sounds I cant do.
And honestly I don’t have time I can only make music on the weekends as I work full time and I DON’T
Wanna spend 6 hours making one sound when I can use that to write a good part of a song..
Sometimes I do get sucked into spending hours in front of my virus trying and then go im wasting precious time. That’s just my IMO and I know some of you on this forum think VERY differently.
Other than that. Cuz I stopped drinking I lost 15 kgs - haha has nothing to do with production but still.
And for 2010
My goal is to get a song signed by Armada… a big stretch I know but what is a goal if its not REALLY hard!!!
:D
And start playing out more around sydney playing trance that is.. Not house like I used too. |

| Got a room, upgraded my media center, and ready to kill extended sets till 3am on Saturdays. Major players are my ebusiness partners. However, my music policy changed and I'm more appreciative about allowing other artists play during the airtime. :) |

As I've mentioned before, it was a great year for me (see sig :p). I think 2010 is going to be better, as I'm aim to dedicate more time for my music production and building up my studio.
And I'm looking forward to crossing over to a Mac based studio after WMC :). |

| My goal for the coming year: spend more time on music than all my other hobbies combined. I don't think I did that last year, unfortunately. |
