The years-in-the-making Gran Turismo 5 has been delayed. The game was slated for release this March in Japan, but publisher Sony Computer Entertainment announced today that the game's release date is now TBA.
In an official release, Sony stated the release date will be announced at a later date. The company also apologized for any trouble that this delay has caused.
GT5 was first announced at the E3 gaming expo in Los Angeles back in 2006. According to GT series creator Kazunori Yamauchi, Gran Turismo 5 has cost $60 million to make. The game will feature over 1,000 automobiles and 20 different locations.
The game was playable in 3D at the recent CES show in Las Vegas. Sony previously announced it was shooting for "Summer 2010" for a Western release. No word on how this delay will impact those plans.
lol 60 million and 1000 vehicles. They might as well aim for a release on the PS4.

Oh come oe, honestly whos surprised about this? As if we hadn learned the lesson from GT for PSP which was supposed to be one of the early title for the system and when was it released? A few months ago, years after it was supposed to come out.

250 vehicles will be unable to enter races with other vehicles. 75 vehicles will be restricted to a track. 80 vehicles will not be able to be modified. 50 vehicles will be ineligible for time attack. Top Gear episodes are restricted to Top Gear Australia.
I hope they address what was wrong with GT4. The game looks beautiful.

looking at picking up NFS: shift for a bit of fun.
thought the first GT was great, but never really played the others.
I really want someone to make a game where you just race ONE car in a proper competition ala real motor sport. Maybe CM’s F1 game will be worth a look, if it ever comes out and if it isnt arcade as fvck like grid (not that grid wasn’t a good game or anything).

I wasnt impressed by Shift, while it was somewhat better than the few previous installments it wasnt what i would call fun...an arcade driving model is fine when youre racing on open roads or such, but when youre put on a race track and expected to actually drive a proper racing line...then you want a proper physics model and this one just doesnt deliver.
Also, dont know if they fixed this bug yet, but some combinations of cars and tracks are undrivable as the car starts to bounce around for no reason whatsoever. See the video below, the Carrera GT at Spa...the damn car bounces on the straights, in the corners and Eau Rogue is impossible to take at speeds over 50kmh. Epic fail.

Just sayin'.

Oh :( its been recommended to me by a good friend, coz we’re always looking for a racer that treads the line between arcade and sim (don’t really have the time to spend hours setting up a car for each track).
Still more waiting ahead then I guess. I havent really played a game as fun and awesome as the original indycar.
I love racing games that will let me crash out or finish last and then just continue to the next event. Fvck unlocking tracks, cars “licenses” etc. I wanna feel like im in a proper competition.
