yea this type of is everywhere on message boards. its all about anonymity that the internet provides, it enables poor souls to act out their shortcomings by trying to create drama / evoke reactions from others, gang mentality, all the basic traits of poo flingin primates. thing is, this board has the lowest maturity level of all the boards i visit. forget about population and traffic, its more about the core group of people that frequent there and how they post that sets the tone of the place. some boards just get lucky and dont get the trouble makers. nsxprime.com/forums/ is a place i go also and its a dream come true as far as maturity. probably also the subject of the forum is a factor, i mean, dj'ing is already one of the most pretentious hobbies to begin with.
idoru: agree to disagree so that topic doesnt go any further in the thread but, im willing to bet if you counted it all up, the mnmlish side are way more often the first to pounce on a trancey thread. when the trancey people provoke something in a mnmlish thread, its usually because they were already slandered in a previous trancey thread they made and want revenge.
redd: its not poor semantics. its simple: insulting the person vs insulting the music. theres a difference in maturity of "you have taste in music" vs "that song is ". it probably is an age thing; the younger you are, the more defensive you are. like in high school everyone is so defensive because of insecurities, by the time you're in your late twenties you don't give a crap anymore and it changes how you spew opinions. plus, it helps if you dont get so attached to a type of music and take it as an indirect insult when that music gets made fun of. you also care way less to ever squint your eyes and say "ooooo i know what he's trying to do there, im going to expose him for what he's REALLY about".

Thanks for the elaborate hipster reply. Are they toomainstream for you to like? Too many kids at their shows? Who gives a ... Sure they are douchy frenchmen.. I watched their documentary and hate who they are, but their music is incredible. Their song writing, song structure, and sound are what make them pioneers.

Took me all of about 30 seconds to type my posts in this thread.
I likely wasted more time trying to find matching socks in the dryer this morning.

Even if you think their music is amazing, what are they pioneers of? What have they done that hasn't been done before? They sound exactly like every other electro/indie act that wishes they were Daft Punk.

Why do you continue to post here if you have so many issues with this place? It's your fault that you get so offended by and fed up with this place, because you make the conscious decision to continually come back here. Nothing is going to change just because you're sitting here bawling your eyes out. Put up or shut up, the door is over there. *points*

Not to further stir the pot, but isn't this exactly what you're having difficulty with?

It's fairly obvious that Stevo gets bullied, but it's equally obvious that he brings it upon himself.

Beating a dead horse here, but it definitely IS. Insulting the music with childish bull like you did in that post, when all I asked for was information about it, is a provocation. Again, if you don't interpret it as that, maybe that's the reason you get so much here and you can't understand why. The age thing only matters on how you react to such a troll. I'm an old fart, so I didn't take your bait much. It doesn't make it any less of a provocation. Not crying about it, simply telling you you're wrong.

This is a great board, very entertaining, filled with information and people giving good tips. However when it comes to general things and ideas it's rotten from the core. Here are some examples:
First off, there seem to be a number of people who's opinion is considered final and Godly. I've witnessed several threads where a general idea surrounding an album or a track were created, then once some regular poster disagreed with the opinion on the album/track at hand, everyone started whining because that poster actually had his OWN opinion, thus disrupting the already spawned idea.
Second off all, there is no shortage of people here who consider themselves prophets of music, that jump into a thread, thow a 3-4 word comment about the low-rank of a track then burst off like they are too holy to actually give an explanation to why they made that post.
I really do have much appreciation and respect for the people that really stay in the thread and explain, share and try to help others understand their view and why exactly they like/dislike, agree/disagree with the music kind. God only knows how many idiots J had to waste his neurons on through-out the years.
