What is Scratch Live 2?
Scratch Live 2 adds more decks, DJ FX and two way interaction with Ableton Live with new protocol called “The Bridge”. Inside Serato Scratch Live 2, we now bring four new Display Modes that allow you to choose a range of new screen layouts with 2, 3 or 4 deck control. Each Display Mode features with a clean design and your choice of ways to play with expanded Library Views that allow you to easily spot your favorite track to bring to the mix.
Additional tools can be activated in Scratch Live that give you an expanded view and instant control of a range of free plug-ins including the SP-6 Sample Player, brand new Serato DJ FX and direct access to Ableton Live via “The Bridge”.
You can also add the optional Serato Video-SL plug-in to bring exciting visuals into your performance.

That's a great update, but I'm still not moving over from Traktor Scratch Pro until they can sell the software as compatible with dongle-less, audio-interface-approved hardware.
The whole reason my xone 4d works so well for me is because I don't need an extra usb box sticking out at every gig just to make the software run like Torq or Serato. Only one usb cable, and hookups to my TTs/CDJs. |

serato is really more and more becoming what traktor scratch already is. tsp already has four decks, fx and variable display presets. is it true that it will also adopt the hardware limitations, that tsp has?
i'm curious as to what "the bridge" really is capable of. with tsp, i could imagine syncing with ableton via midi. this can't be the only thing the bridge does... but i don't find the features i understood from the other thread very useful. |

It will spawn countless horrible DJ performances from people who have no idea about how to integrate Ableton into their regular sets but will do it anyway because it's possible. |

| too bad it still looks like a kindergardener designed the GUI. I'll stick with Traktor. |

| I disagree, IMO the interface is extremely well done. Simple and high contrasting interface is much easier to interpret visually compared to other interfaces out there. BTW I'm a TSP user and love it. |
