that was them in their prime. they both have gone downhill since.
Schadenfreude
their prime was before that, delta heavy was simply the culmination of their popularity.

which was when? i admit never been to one of their twilo shows or delta heavy, but just judging by all the livesets ive heard from them over the years, the '01, '02 delta heavy livesets sounded just as good and deep as some '00, '01 twilo sets. my favorite one is the one at twilo where there was a small fire and everyone had to leave the club and come back in.

Sooo jealous. I've got a 3 part liveset of their Delta Heavy stop in Orlando if anyone wants me to upload.

I would kill to have seen them at Twilo. being 13 during that time period.

You have to ask? DO IT!

the prime started with this:

http://www.discogs.com/Sasha-John-D...ion/master/1477

i mean just look at that and listen to it if you have never heard it.

my interest in them started fading after delta heavy, and i probably really stopped giving a crap about them sometime in 2004.

personal opinion of course.

1995-1997. People here mostly love the Delta Heavy period because it coincided with their first encounters with prog, and so it has the most sentimental resonance. Which is not to say that the Delta Heavy period sucked, I just think that dark prog was a reaction to what was going on in the mainstream and closer to modern tech-prog than most people want to admit.

some links to livesets of different periods would be nice, like the 95-97 you mention.

never heard that renaissance mix but thats probably because other dj's on that series bored the piss out of me and deterred me from ever giving that series a try again. talk to me full master mix and mismoplastico are tunes i really like and are dancefloor friendly so maybe that mix is totally different from the other renaissance mixes.

If I had a time machine going to Twilo would be in my top10.

I think I have a Digweed @ Twilo set. I do have a set from the both of them that was broadcast on Groove radio here in LA prior to their Delta Heavy tour...I think it was right around when Northern Exposure came out.

It's quite good, give it a listen. Also, both of their essential mixes from 1996 (it could be 1995, can't remember at the moment) are ace.

i can agree somewhat with your statement, but this is THE Renaissance comp to have. No question, miles above all the other ones.

as per the sets, dial those peperoni nipples to google and you should find them.

Ok...I have:

Sasha - Live at Club Logic, LA 12.21.97
Sasha - Live at The Hacienda 12.13.89
Sasha - The Original Mixtape No. 1 1990
Sasha & Digweed - Live on KCRW 2000
Sasha & Digweed - Live on Groove Radio (not sure of the year, pretty sure it's 98-99...definitely pre Delta Heavy)
Sasha & Digweed - Live on Triple J 01.01.97

I think the Digweed set at Twilo was an Essential Mix from way back when.
