Firstly, let me take this opportunity to say a big thank you to each of you for your support in 2009. We are very excited at the things to come for 2010 and we wish you all success in everything that you do in the New Year.
Our first release of 2010 comes from German producer/DJ/label owner T.R.O. Oliver has become recently active on the breaks scene during the 2nd half of 2009, with a string of releases on various labels worldwide. Here he provides us with a quirky, melodic breaks track with strong support from established producers Llupa and Elfsong. Each spellbinding track is guaranteed to soothe the soul and allow the mind to wander off into the deepest and intricate parts of our universe.
Original Mix
The original mix is a wonderful combination of old skool beats, pulsating bass and sweeping strings. With a slight mechanical undertone, this track launches a hypnotic groove sprinkled with dreamy synths and haunting vocal excerpts. The breakdown introduces some ethereal strings, that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Moby track, before bringing all these elements together to lead us out in full effect. This track definitely has some unique characteristics and would be pleasantly surprising to anyone within an earshot.
Llupa's Kollektiv Remix
As well as hosting his famous “Disc Breaks” show on NSB Radio, Australian producer/DJ Llupa has been successful producing originals and remixes for some of the finest artists and labels around, resulting in positive reactions both critically and commercially. For this remix, he takes the groove of the original and introduces some harder beats and a mesmerising and evolving acid lead which, together with sweeping strings, provide us with a wonderfully produced track that will catch everybody’s attention. A perfect breaks track to include in a set where a transition between melodic and more hard-edged tracks is needed.
Elfsong's Dispersive Mix
Hungarian producer/DJ/label owner Elfsong needs to introduction. His unique sound, collaborative projects and work for the finest melodic labels around, have ensured his productions be synonymous with quality. In this breaks remix, a gorgeous atmosphere is established immediately with deep futuristic synth stabs, bass, crispy percussion and haunting soundscapes. In the breakdown, these otherworldly elements combine with a beautiful, almost Café Del Mar-esque melody, which twists and turns it’s way throughout the remainder of the track. Progressive breaks at its finest, this track would work well as an intro piece to a melodic set or as a wonderful piece of escapism as a stand-alone track
