Agnostic. I believe that there is no way of knowing if there is or is not a god(dess), an afterlife, a diety, a collection of powerful beings waiting to feed me grapes.... etc until after I die.

But I'm open minded enough to entertain the idea.
I think religion serves a purpose of explaining what science can't quite yet and of helping provide people with a community and bonds and feelings of fitting in. And that's cool. I think that societies will eventually evolve beyond the need for this social institution, and that's cool too.

As long as you don't tell me how I should feel or what I should believe, we're cool.

Over to you.

pretty much the same...

my belief is knowing what you don't know... socrates style.

i don't particularly mind science or religion, as long as both come from a place of enlightened thought, and/or logic...

any blind opinion is ed which is why religion cops so much crap: so many 'religious' people have no idea what they're even talking about, or living for.
i think the same can often be said about scientists though, or 'atheists' as i've posted in a number of threads, and since PKC's been here, i know there's a good chance i will be disembowled for comparing science and religion in this way, but, we'll see :p

God might be real, i think religion is 99% off-target though.
Scientific truths are real, but i think most of us shouldn't be involved in any kind of minesterial work endorsing the faith in science... I don't understand enough about it to seriously claim that the big bang is truth, for example. It's mere faith to say you believe it, if you personally can't prove it, just like it's mere faith believing in god based on the bible, EXCEPT that religion is completely founded on the necessity of faith, while science is meant to deny faith...
Capitalizt
Aside from being immoral and deadly, religion also happens to be completely false. It has stunted the minds of countless generations and is keeping us from reaching our full potential.

yeah, this is bollocks :p people dont have 'faith' in science, they have 'trust'. because there are verifiable, substantiated results.

and most atheists aren't all "there is no god" so much as they are "organised religion is ed".

I believe in people. That is, rather than waste my time thinking about deities, I focus my attention on the people I share the planet with. They matter, empty ideas don't.

BUT WHAT HAPPENS WITH TEH SOUL WHEN YOU DIE?!?!!
