interesting. thanks for your post. nu-funk is another genre i need to get around to exploring more. all i have are tracks by all good funk alliance, b-team, fort knox 5, ursula 5000.

Yeah, I've noticed that as well. Most of the samples that are getting used in the so called "disco" stuff are mostly very not disco. Mind you, thats ok with me since I'm not really in love with most real disco...

Oh wow, you've made my week -- what a fine mix! I love this stuff -- classic italo and space disco is pretty much the bulk of the dance music I've listened to in the past four years. still following this music. this genre pisses me off. theres just not enough trancey groovy tunes. too much cheese, too much stuff that isnt different enough from an original late 70's - early 80's tune, and too many just plain edits.
this is my favorite tune of this genre, i have searched high and low and have yet to find a tune that beats this:
see? its not just the same thing over and over again. it has like, uhh, parts to it. i do still love disco edits even though 9 times out of 10 they dont go anywhere, they dont take you on a journey like kul i pul. theres way too many disco edits out there and not enough kul i puls. that makes sense because its way easier for someone to use ableton to loop a section of an old record than it is to make a new tune from scratch.
