Sometimes it's in a language you're fluent in, but not your native one, so it feels "foreign" still, but you can understand it pretty fluidly.
Other times, the only thing you know in that language is the lyrics to that song, and often you don't know the connotations or intonations that a native speaker would be able to appreciate it - but you like it anyway.
Why?.. Which songs do you like in a foreign language, and what about them rings with you? How well do you know the language, and what about the music crosses that barrier for you? :)

One of my favourite ever songs is foreign (to me). Even at first, when I didn't understand the lyrics, it was hauntingly beautiful and really moved me. When I finally learnt what they were and what they meant, my appreciation for it only grew.

Technically, every song in english is to me in a foreign language. But if were talking about something that im not fluent in i enjoy french and japanese tunes.

i rarely listens to lyrics, if i want rhymes and i'll rather read a poem. to me it's more the sound of the vocals that are appealing to me.

I can be completely deaf when it comes to hearing lyrics. I can hear them sing and now it sounds, but I can't remember any words. So I'm with you.
