I'm really stoked at how things are coming along.. I really feel like we're building something. I took a really big risk in doing these events, and it's never been more prevalent than NOW. A lot of road blocks & date fighting is going on.. it really sucks. But I hope we can make it through & bring some of the 100+ artists we have on our list lol
This should be a good one! I tried to piggy back the Dallas show from a couple of months ago & when it got canceled, I told myself I def needed to bring Martin here... |

I am unfamiliar with the promoting thing for the most part, but are only certain promoters allowed to book shows at say the Lizard Lounge? Austin scene can definitely take off with work, but here in Dallas we have like few new artists (progressive/trance) coming to town throughout the year, but when we do it pulls a pretty good sized crowd (more surrounding cities and just a greater population overall). When Jayson brought Sean, I don't know the numbers, but it was a big party. If I had to guess I would say 350-500 people...never made it to the other room though.
Just seems like there is an opportunity here in Dallas to really get something going as far as new talent and cheaper bookings. Tired of this same rotation of top10 DJs every year (no offense to Jeremy). But I guess if we only bring top 10 DJs...time for some Sander van Doorn and Gareth Emery!
You are doing the right thing imo Andrew. These DJs you are bringing are just as good as the so called Top 10 and come with a much cheaper price. I guess I'm just hoping someone will step up here and feel the void. Since October I have only been to 2 shows here in Dallas and have traveled out of town 4 times to Austin and once to Houston....and I wonder why I'm becoming broke. I'm done rambling =] |

I want to get to the point where I have a partner in Dallas, Houston & the RGV and that way we can all book shows a little cheaper... I told Jason I was def down to work with him. This also allows us to switch our local openers in & out of each city for more exposure to them & the companies.
I dunno. I'm game... just waiting for others to come around or whatever.
It's crazy how many people we have supporting our cause right now, and it's because what you just said "The same rotation of top 10 dj's" <--- people are bored & tired.
