WMC Subforum Suggestions/ Issues Thread (pg. 2)

I know this included some clutter here and there, especially with people "whoring out" their parties. But I, for one, did not mind it. I enjoyed the fact that TA had, by far, the best WMC subforum around. There were tons of threads about anything and everything concerning that week; i.e. questions, parties, meetups, general discussion, etc. The organization of the event thread was perfect, with the first page being updated constantly with newly announced parties. It looks as though that is going to be nearly the same this year, so I don't see the need for an extra "event listing" subforum. I think it is going to be confusing, and not enough people are going to follow the rules, making your job more difficult editing and deleting stuff. I don't know all the aspects involved with the administration of these boards, but from this side of things everything seemed to run pretty smoothly with the previous format. You guys do a great job, and I'm all for anything that makes that job easier. I'm also high on the adage of "if it ain't broke...", so the slight changes are a bit odd. In any case, keep up the good work and I hope things get worked out to people's liking.

I & the others helping out this year appreciate your reply & opinion. I want to be fair & am all for making it as easiest possible. I am removing the guidelines for now & by next weekend I hope to have all the kinks sorted out.
The WMC will & is allowed to have individual threads as long as they are no reposts & is created properly.
No pointless threads. It creates clutter. You gus have been doing this for years & should know whats expected from the TA's frm all over the world. Use common sense & do not make thread just to see your name on a thread & not have any useful info.
Thats all I ask.

The events listed by date is so much better! Event forum all the way!
For fuks sake.. No sifting through pages and pages of threads to find a party that has moved down the page. |

No other comments or suggestions are being made so far. I don't want anyone to complain if things don't work out the way they want to.
For right now WMC events will be moved to the event subforum.

You know I try to be fair so that everyone is happy. Thats Y i created this thread. I am gonna delete all other posts in Ben's List thread so all there is a List & not a threa.

so the way its setup right now, the florida section will be nothing but wmc events? honestly, what the is the point of even having a wmc subforum then? the subforum is supposed to keep wmc related out of the florida section. that was its sole purpose over the last 5 years. but its actually doing the opposite now.
four different places for events. events subforum, florida section, master list, and general discussion thread for posting events. how ing retarded.
but whatever i guess. |

1. you have the option of taking out events in florida forum.
2. the whole purpose of the EVENTS subforum is for EVENTS. You don't have to go into the forum if you dont want. No one is forcing you. You can stay in the WMC section and look at Benji's thread.
3. Manny can implement rules that general discussion on a party must be posted in the event thread?
Well hype threads will be in the wmc area - but who cares?? Seeing a nice list of organized parties by date is nice! There aint going on in florida anyways. Might as well make use of the events subforum. |

right. i like the events subforum but i think its being totally misused. four different places for events is way too much to manage. its going to be such a cluster , if its not already.
i shouldnt even mention the fact that wmc visitors actually have to click on the florida section to see what events have recently been updated now. since the events section is chronological and the events arent being shown in the wmc subforum. does that make any sense?
i think the point of having an events subforum (for florida) was totally lost and its totally ing the wmc subforum up. there were some events being spammed. so we wanted a place where those events could be spammed freely and yet not have it bother people. now instead of having 4 or 5 events on our main page in florida we have 15! 15/30 threads are events. and its only going to get worse.
but like i already said, whatever i guess. im done. i tried. you all know how i think it should go. (okay maybe one last time before i give up. :p wmc either needs its own subforum for events or events should NOT show up in the florida section [the way the majority of flta wanted it from the start]. both easy fixes. but swamper i guess doesnt want too many subforums which is understandable or the florida section will look deserted with no events. also understandable but it simply wont get as bad other sections like uk/ireland or the spanish section so why not try it?)
edit: atleast the editing thing got fixed. |

But I just don't see it that-big-of-a-deal.
Benji does a great job of updating the party list which is only a smaller version of what the events subforum would be.
I think as long as the Events list is kept up (which it will be) then there is no need to find out what has been updated. |

i agree, ben does an AMAZING job with the master events thread. i dont think anyone is debating anything having to do with that thread.
my issue isnt that we have an events subforum. i think we SHOULD have one. but the way its being used doesnt make any sense. right now it just seems to be causing more problems than its solving. what i think has already been stated too many times and honestly im tired of trying. swamper and manny have the final say, so from here on out, ill just shut the up. :toothless |
