This track started out as a casual tech-house/techno piece to kind of lull out of my ambient funk from remixing R. Audiard's Fundament.
Perhaps it was a combination of reading Terence McKenna's Food of the Gods and having just finished Ender's Game that drove me to this spacey, psychedelic realm that resulted in Xenogenesis.
The name of course refers to the development of the sounds and how my intentions were on producing a techno piece; but of course the track took on a life of it's own and soon I had this heavily Goa-influenced piece with roots in techno and prog.
In any event, I hope you like this track which I totally poured my soul into over the past week.
Special thanks to my fiancee Shelby for putting up with my never-ending retreats into DAW land.
Also...I am editing the first post to include the Soundcloud embedded in the post.
Thanks guys!

1 minute in, sounds spotless so far. When the synths come in it pleases me because they are up to par with the production of the other elements. The Vangaurd trance gate is a bit off putting at first but it seems to fit. The mix starts to throw me off around 1:50. I kind of want to hear it without that trancegate, since it just reminds me of a preset. The mixdown I'm not sure about.
Overall, not a totally top notch production but the perc is groovy enough to keep my attention. It's got a groovy high end and a satisfying mid. Some of the synths are totally spot on, others are not. The FX is clear and effective. There are a lot of elements, which is good. I think it could work on the dancefloor for sure, depending on the crowd of course.
One thing I do not like is the kick drum. Too old school and has no oomph.

Thanks for the feedback! And yeah actually the Vanguard, gated synth is probably one of the more generic elements I'm using here. It helped to balance the mix and add some drive or groove to the track but I may need to compress it or perhaps loosen the attack down a couple of notches.
I'm definitely intrigued about your comment on the kick drum, I specifically used it for it's old school sound!
But I certainly appreciate all your comments and will work on those points some more.
Thank you for the listen. I'll keep an eye out for any of your tracks to check out.

I would say that if the other elements of the mix were mixed and EQ'd better that you wouldn't have as much of an issue right now as you are having with needing the Vanguard there to fill up a missing frequeny range. It does fill in part of the mix but not in a pragmatic way, in a just barely getting by kind of way. If you remove the Vanguard which I suggest you do, and find a better synth sound, rhythmically it may also be necessary to replace what the vanguard was playing. Perhaps not a gate this time? Anyhow, it sounded good to me except for what I have mentioned.
