On Friday, February 5th Culprit party series rolls on with a French underground house veteran, a globally respected DJ and a venerable producer, D’Julz. Having gotten his start playing the very first Paris raves back in 1992, D'Julz went on to become a resident at what became one of the best known clubs in the world - Rex in Paris. He is now the oldest running resident at this clubbing institution. His own parties at Rex, Bass Culture, pair D'Julz with best artists in the genre. Only two days after this LA appearance, D’Julz will return to Paris team up with Marco Carola and Loco Dice.
For the past decade D'Julz has built a truly impressive production resume. The highlights include EPs of original material for 20:20 Vision, Steve Bug's Poker Flat & Dessous imprints, Josh Wink's Ovum label, Circus Company and Klang Elektronik. His remixes are even more notable, with turns for Steve Lawler, Matthew Dear, Thugfucker, Marc Romboy, Slam and Layo & Bushwacka.
After nearly two decades of steady growth, D'Julz is on top of his form, commanding his craft with precision and verve. His music is at the crossing of house and deep techno with strong acid and funk influences.
D'Julz is making his full Los Angeles debut at TS 2.
Droog play the customary lead-in set, with one of Culprit's young guns, Bas, warming up the vibe.
This will also be the last Culprit party for a bit as we ready things for WMC :D Get in!
