Ever get into spurts where you just can't sleep?
Unfortunately I have been having them a lot lately :(
What do you do to help yourself get that much needed sleep?? |

Smoke a joint, drink 2 beers, lights-out within the hour.
Reading a book is another good one, 30-40 pages and I'm drowsy, and it helps keep my mind from racing, which is usually the culprit when I can't sleep. |

Watch a light TV show or movie that you like and have seen a lot of. Then you won't have the feeling that you have to stay up and finish watching it. I usually fall asleep to TV. Friends and the Office always do it for me...out half way through the episode.
Also, I've never done it b/c I can't drink milk, but doesn't a class of warm milk help? |

Valerian root extract in a glass of water.
It's about the only thing that works for me (even if it is at a rougly 70% success rate). I've been dealing with insomnia for most of my life & even seconal didn't do for me. So that's what I go with. It's available at almost every natural supplement store for about $10 for a bottle that'll last you for months.
Oh, just one warning. Valerian root extract tastes ing awful. But you'll be comfortably lights out in about 30 minutes after taking it.
Edit: Also, I've never found valerian root to give me messed up dreams. |
