Anyone use Bandcamp?

Anyone here use bandcamp?

I use it (though i haven't done anything for nearly a year), and its really good.

If you aren't familiar with it, its a site where you can set up your own artist page with all your music. But you can also sell your music on there through paypal, for as little or as much as you like. Or link the buy button to your beatport page if the tracks are signed.

You upload your tracks in wav, then can offer them for sale or free download at whatever format the customer desires - mp3 320, 192, flac, wav etc etc. Bandcamp sorts all that for ya.

Everything is integrated into Bandcamp, the artists' pages are clutter free and intuitive to use.

Of all the artist websites I have tried, this one is far and away the best I have used, really feels like the creators of the site are thinking carefully about what artists want from a site like this.

Anyway, never heard anyone mention it before on here so you might wanna check it out.

I don't work for bandcamp btw ;)

Yes mate, but soundcloud doesn't work in the same way Bandcamp does. I like soundcloud, it has a good music player, and its easy to share your music with others.

But for anyone that wants their own artist page for fans to visit and download (not just other DJ/producers spamming each other), Bandcamp offers much more.

Its worth checking out if you haven't tried it, watch the intro video, read the features, decide from there...

I just quickly scanned the FAQ. I thought maybe it was just another Myspace or soundclick, but Bandcamp offers a whole lot more. Well, more than other sites I'm familiar with. I would be more inclined to try this than soundcloud. The site offers more of an all-in-one artist website/homepage, rather than just a place to share your music. I like how you upload a wavefile and it auto-converts into a lot of different file formats, including high-fidelity. No premium accounts, paying customers have no advantage over freebies. If it all works smoothly, sounds like a good tool for promotion and distributing. It's worth a look.

looks pretty dope, good features. i think i'll create an account & check it out in the near future, but for now im stuck on soundcloud because i absolutely love the dashboard. i like how its like twitter for music.

great share, good post

IMO soundcloud is much cooler in terms of networking and discovering new music and artists

Yes. As far as I can tell it's the new model.

faster workflow could fix your problem, try finalizing a track in 2 sessions. easier said than done.
