Polishing a Progressive Trance Track - Requesting Collaboration!

Hi guys. I occasionally work with audio DSP programming, but I am no musician. I know synthesis fairly well, but I do not know much musical theory and mastering, aside from the time-stretching/pitch-shifting theory I know through programming.
But I started working on a track in any case, featuring only some of the default Ableton Live provides and some warm synth sounds I created from scratch in one of Reason's synthesizers.
I think this track could be polished with cleaner, quality samples, some subtle instrument tracks, and especially mastering. If anyone is interested in collaborating to make this into an actual track, then kindly let me know!
Here is the stream link, I figured that would be more convenient than an attachment:

that sounds far too deadmau5ish for me.
And I'm gonna tell you straightup no amount of mastering is going to fix that track. You do absolutely need to start picking stronger sounds. I know you're new to this but every single sound you put in a track needs to count, it really is impossible to teach, and I'm STILL learning what a "strong sound" is after 6 years of producing.
Its a skill that only comes with time. I'd do a quick collab just to show you some but I don't use Ableton. |

Okay thanks man definitely appreciate the advice.
(PS I forgot to mention that the song progression/arrangement is also bad and I acknowledge that, it was just laying down a few bars. :P ) |

No absolutely, goes to show how much character you have simply for not getting offended. You will learn a lot with an open mind like that.
And remember its up to you, I'm not sure if Ableton can export zipped projects with all the samples but Fruity can. I was going to say if you feel like zipping all the samples/presets/midi, I can thicken the sounds up, remix them, and tell you exactly what I did.
Theres a lot of guys on this forum who would destroy me, but I 've genuinely had a strong urge myself to collab lately. I'm prob going to find someone a bit closer to my experience to do something more serious soon, but if you feel like playing around in the mean time on aim let me know. |
