Sounds the same process as delay compensation. Right?

Why, even I'll admit I'd rather be using Logic then FL.

Whats even worse is he was joking. So thats minus 2 for you.

I think delay compensation is an automatic lining up of all parts to compensate for latency.

Channel delay is a controllable feature that lets you move the entire part backwards or forward in measures of milliseconds.

Beyond what Robby said, is Fruity Delay 2 the same thing as channel delay in FL? I never bothered to use it, but this sounds pretty intriguing.

No channel delay in FL is located on the actual channel itself, on the mixer where it says pre/post delay. You can adjust it by beats/ms and whatever else is there I forgot but you'll see it right on the mixer.

Generally i use it on pads and on piano's a lot.
Good feature that a lot of new producers should check into.

WTF?? Fruity Delay is a delay (echo) plugin. What you want is shown in the following screenshot (the knob titled OFS in the FUNC tab of the channel settings). Note that that knob is unipolar, i.e., it starts at 0 and does not let us have negative offset values.

This is for a single instrument channel within a pattern. If you want to move around a pattern or a clip in the playlist, press Alt and drag it around till you see fit.

No, that is plugin delay, jesus christ. If your plugin (say a convolution reverb) is introducing a latency (say 1024 samples), the settings in the mixer offer a way to sync up the other mixer tracks to the 'slowest' mixer track (the one with the delay).

EDIT: Sorry for the white area on the screenshot.

Easy, killer, I know what Fruity Delay is. I was asking about Fruity Delay 2, which is a separate effect that I never bothered to try using, mostly because the first time I tried I don't remember getting any kind of echo effect and thought it might be Channel Delay instead.

Sorry if it was such an idiotic question.. jeez.

Sometimes people have days where the only way they can feel musically competent is by putting other peoples skills down. It happens all the time on these forums and anyone with common sense knows theres absolutely no need to address anyone that way.

I've seen you around these forums and I know you're nothing but a pretty humble & respectable guy. Just ignore people who bother you, its the acquired skill of any smart man. I'm still working on it myself. :tongue2
