| im using windows 7 64-bit for producing, runs spot on for me, running it on a quad core machine with 4 gig ram, NI's Audio Kontrol 1 sound card and i work with cubase and ableton on it. to be honest tho im not really pushing it to the max, my cpu meter never reaches 3 quarters of the way along. |

| win 7 64bit here since the day it was released. Had 2 blue screens first week (don't know what caused it) but no more after that. |

Upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7...using Ableton Live 8 on both.
Good difference in performance. Everything seems to run a lot smoother. I haven't had a blue screen since the switch to 7. You won't regret it IMO. |

Another W7 user here - I've got the Professional version on my desktop DAW and Home Premium on the wife's laptop. The laptop installation has been flawless. The desktop had some problems/BSODs with the old MOTU drivers, but since they finally got around to updating them a few weeks ago, it's been smooth sailing.
BTW, the startup time is soooooo much faster with W7. ;) |

I'm currently running a dual-boot setup with 32-bit Windows 7 and 32-bit Vista Ultimate. My plan was to keep Vista installed until I was comfortable with W7 32-bit, then install 64-bit W7 on the Vista partition. I'll be doing that one of these upcoming weekends after I buy more RAM - I'm currently at 4GB (the 32-bit max), but my mobo will take up to 16GB. |
