|
Totally agree especialy with all the drama that is around the toic already. |

its a random course |
yea..i was just wondering where I could find info about legal descriptions/lot zones etc in toronto.
..this is an intro course designed to teach us what is involved at the development stage. NOT the planning stage.

Why choose guv |
lol no reason really...just noticed part of this assignment is due this week, gotta get a start on it. arbitrary location...close to the water, lcbo and loblaws. easy access onto the highway...basically why any other condo is being built in that area... |

this really angers me that this is being taught and practiced here.
when not try building on the vast open and wasted space that is in toronto??? How about the open land downtown that are parking lots and brownfields? Why do we have to tear everything down??
Look at the land wasted in places like north york and scarborough. Why the hell do we have 100 m of empty dead space between a road and a parking lot?
And then people wonder why proper transit is so hard to develop here???
For sakes... |

when you teach a kid about life; do you tell them about murder, terrorists, psychos, taxes, suicide, divorce, aids, and so on? No, for simplicity, you neglect some information and just start with a base of knowledge to build on. This is what an intro course does.... please dont be angry, everyone's gotta start somewhere right... |

im not angry with you.. but with the retards that teach razing and rebuilding as opposed to infill. Clearly there is something wrong with the culture of urban planning in this country from school to actual practice.
the tear down everything for condos mentality is ruining toronto. |

then there is this:
| quote: | Tour of the RCMI and the Library
For more than 100 years the Royal Canadian Military Institute has been part of the history of Toronto. It was as a gathering place for distinguished citizens and famous visitors. More recently it has become a backdrop for film and TV productions while still hosting dinners and military roundtables. It is the home of the largest privately funded and maintained military library in Canada.
You are invited to visit this unique library collection as well as take a tour of this extraordinary facility. This historic building is scheduled to be torn down to make way for a condo very soon, so this will be perhaps the last opportunity so see the library in all its glory before it goes into storage.
Date: January 19, 2010
Time: 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Location:
Royal Canadian Military Institute, 426 University Avenue, Toronto, between Dundas and Queen. The subway exit is St. Patrick, at the South West corner of Dundas West and University Avenue. Look for the white building with the two cannons out front. |
