For those of you considering Omnisphere, but are wondering about its synth side, this new video from NAMM `10 shows a pretty good introduction to its capabilities.

I was just thinking about buying this product (in the nest couple of weeks). Has nice soundbank package.

It's a monster synth. It's definitely got a reputation as being a rompler/preset machine, but that's not at all where its strengths lie - I don't know of a synth that has as many modulation options and synthesis types as Omni does, aside from some of the modular/semi-modular synths. Plus, it has the ability to layer in samples from the 40GB library, granular-lize them, morph them, add some FM, additive, etc. It's ridiculous what Omni is capable of. |
