Production meets Creativity

I thought I would with this one go in with the intentions of creating a philosophical thread from within the production area.
I guess simply put, does creativity stem across more then one avenue. I mean do those that find themselves involved with music production are they constantly, or actively involved in other pursuits of creativity. Or, do we who produce music or build clay sculptures tend to stick to one avenue and not lay interest in others areas.
I know some of us, are into photography, perhaps a form of art and of course music production but is it a strong trend? i guess thats my point.
For me personally putting music aside, I would love to get into photography, even a potters wheel and make bowls, vases etc, even paint if I could find the time. Again, you dont necessarily have to be actively involved in another form of creativity but having it in mind as a constant want, is where im heading as well.
Therefore, is it safe to say that creativity, if one is in fact creative, tends to overalp most areas of their life! And, those that are not creative, or have external pursuits from themselves simply live non-fruitful lives in a sense? |

Interesting thread idea. My wife and I are both avid amateur photographers, mostly outdoor/nature - landscapes, wildlife, etc. But, we actually haven't spent much time doing that since our son was born 2.5 years ago, but that's starting to change. Honestly, I think I'm better at the technical side of photography than I am at the creative side, whereas my wife is just the opposite. We have some photos online if anyone's interested, but I haven't updated the website in years:

I also like web design, even though I'm pretty much a hack and, again, I think I'm better at the technical side than I am at the creative side. |

Yeah I would love to find the time to start painting again, I used to love painting but there's just not enough hours in the day.
I love producing dance music but I also play classical music, so i have to practice around 1 to 2 hours a day on that to keep it fresh.
I potter around with computers, as i used to be a computer tech. I've desinged a few websites in my time.
When i was in my teens i helped my friend build a bicyle from scratch weld the frame together and basically assemble it til it was complete. So i guess that was being creative. |

Some pretty nice photos there Cryo. I love some of them in landscape1.
I would love to write a book, make a film or paint. Maybe I write a book sometime in the future, but its hard finding time to everything.
For now music keeps me busy enough. |

Well for those of you following the TA Album thread, you know I'm active with graphic design.. I've also done some freehand and computer animation.
I really wish I could draw, but I'm happy enough with my creative outlets. |

Music is my sole form of creativity. Maybe that's why I enjoy it so much. |

I used to mess around with my car, and fettle around with its performance and styling.Kinda pimp my ride cross fast and furious rubbish.
But I got older and all my money & time started to go onto music production.
Guess I just like making things. |

I really like that waterfall one. It looks like white hair. You could call it "A Family of Elder Its." |

I've always been creative outside music. Used to paint would like to again some day. Photography interests me. I think its true for most, that creativity spills over into different releams apart from sticking to one form.
Even if you dont pursue it yet, its something i guess most strive to in the future. |

I used to love creative writing, but after discovering music production, found there was no longer any room for it in my life.
It would be great to be able to do both, but having a FT job, girlfriend, family and friends I struggle to find the time to make tunes, let alone write my next opus.

i do, or have done with varying levels of interest and intensity: painting (oils, acrylics, and inks at different times), sketching, forms of sculpture, or mixed media art really... also have done heaps of 'creative writing'.. stories, poetry etc... obviously i do various types of music, including every type of dance music, and recently started branching into more alternative electronica, plus recording live instruments :)
as mentioned above, havn't really done any writing since getting more into music, but still do the occasional sketch or painting...
photography can be fun, but i never got that much out of it.. more fun drawing etc... |
