Heard good things about his sets and he's playing next week in Copenhagen.

Out today, outstanding album as expected. Though I still feel 'Shedding the Past' is the best Ostgut full length.

All I've heard from this LP is Home and it's a straight mind . My favorite Ostgut LP has been Ben Klock's One with Shedding The Past a close second. My expectations are not very high with this release, I'm more interested in Marcel's textures and rhythms than a rich musical experience. His concepts and approach to music production are very intriguing and mathematical.

Honestly, I hate it. Nothing stands out for me.

I have to agree, it's just not very good and not what I've come to expect from ostgut..

But he "managed a daring feat"!

Erg. Not into this.

From the samples I heard this actually sounds decent enough, doing away with all the white noise, one-note reverberations and other "Berghain"-cliches in minimal techno these days in favor of actual space and atmosphere (shocker!).
Unfortunately, this is still minimal techno stuck in the old Berlin-school, and Monolake already explored this thoroughly approximately ten years ago.
