SIMON MURPHY
Having been involved with the thriving Melbourne techno scene for many years, it took a while for this self confessed music addict turned vinyl junkie to find his calling behind the decks. Through focusing his passion for raw underground sounds on his DJ sets, Simon Murphy has spent the last few years turning more than a few heads playing an eclectic blend of musical madness from his favourite producers from across the globe.
Delving into a forever growing collection of tunes, Simon Murphy does not restrict himself to any one sound, spinning anything from deep house & tech house to the harder edged sounds of techno & progressive and everything in between. Simon’s versatility and ability to adapt his sound for any occasion, plus his seamless mixing and energy behind the decks, have seen him invited to play at some of Victoria’s finest venues, festivals and events. His residence at Substance plus cameos at Unstable Sounds, Interview and Dynamic, to name a few, have proven to be a great stomping ground for him to find his own unique sound.
As a music aficionado and devotee of the Melbourne scene, Simon Murphy strives to find the perfect tunes to capture the mood and this passion is reflected in every set. He is psyched to be welcomed back to Interview and has a whole bag of fresh tasty tunes to unleash on the party faithful. |

LOKI
Throughout Norse history and mythology, Loki is recognized as the god of mischief - a deviant trickster! This is a very fitting similarity to the themes, styles and energy received at every ‘Loki’ DJ performance.
Loki has rapidly established a presence in the Australian scene with his excitability, versatility and creativity behind the decks. Mastering everything from minimal, tech-house, progressive, techno and psy-trance, regularly combining them all in a single performance to show the masses how deep the rabbit hole really goes! With many residencies, overseas shows, guest spots, and radio appearances, Loki has quickly transformed into something more distinctive, separating him from the rest!
Generally supplying a fusion of techno, progressive and psychedelica, Loki's sound can be anything from deep, dark and twisted, to an uplifting, funky, tribal groove unlike any other! Every performance taking the audience on a journey, aboard a rollercoaster through his mind!
Loki has been found headlining arenas in Malaysia & Thailand, in addition to gracing stages all around Australia, supporting internationals and locals alike. Having shared the stage with international artists such as The Organ Donors, Walt, Showtek, Pila, The Scientist, Trevor McLachlan and many more. Regularly performing on the same stages as the likes of Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Infected Mushroom, Laurent Garnier, Funk D’Void, Stanton Warriors, Slam, Fergie, Joris Voorn, Pendulum, D-Nox, Krafty Kuts, Carl Cox and countless others. Showing the level of excellence that is guaranteed with every ‘Loki’ performance.
Loki is also the power that drives "Unstable Sounds", one of Melbourne's finest techno, progressive & psychedelic crews. Operating in many clubs & festivals with over 50 of Australia's biggest and best DJ's at its disposal.
If Loki’s playing at a venue near you, you’re in for one hell of a night! Devastation guaranteed!

MOTEK
Best known for his mind boggling effects behind the decks, Motek (aka Mojo) has been rocking dancefloors for over a decade. Having played various styles throughout his career, he has developed a sound that can only be described as "Chunkee" combining elements of Techno, Progressive and electro.
Whether he is playing Live or Dj'ing, Motek always delivers a sound that is custom for the night. In 2009, Mo stepped away from the decks and focused on his music production. In doing so, he left the traditional style of Dj'ing and incorporated midi controllers and software and started to perform more of a hybrid live set, combining elements of tracks, loops, samples, accapellas, along with his own work in his sets.
Motek's first release came in 2009 on Smash Bang Records, "Polarised" and "Summer Cocktails" in which both tracks bordered along chilled house and prog. Later that year, he released his first EP, titled "Cubism" which was released on 405 Recordings which showed off his versatility in the studio releasing four tracks covering multiple genres such as Trance, Techno, Progreesive and Electro. All four tracks became fan favourites in his sets which included "Free at last", "kwazy larv", "Muthaa" and "forbidden".
2009 saw Motek play his first international gig in the United States, playing a 5 hour set in Boston at the infamous club Rise.
In October of 09, he released his follow up single on "Smash bang records" entitled "between the lines".
2010 has already seen a new sound emerge from Motek with future releases on 405 Recordings and Smash bang. Soon to be released "Murder in Miami", "Finding Wez", "Kontrol Circle" and "Bloodstone".
After a busy 2009, Motek is looking to make an impact on Australia's dance music scene in 2010 with an array of new tracks and new styles. |

Blinky(Beat Geek Records)
After a decade of classical music training, a natural progression towards producing dance music was a result of Bill Hunter's desire to have autonomous control over the music he was aspiring to make.
Beginning at such a young age has given Bill the opportunity to thoroughly learn the art of producing and through lengthy devotion to music, his natural talent has become obvious.
Now steadily becoming one of Melbourne's most notable producers and live performers under the moniker Blinky, he has proceeded to gain a cult following with his energetic live shows.
With a live act comprised of his laptop, midi controller, vocoder, Akai MPC1000 and his signature antics, Blinky has become a feature attraction of many nights including Interview, aLive and Reason.
Over the last year Blinky has aided in unearthing and showcasing local talent by means of Melbourne's Kiss FM radio station. Using his spot entitled Beat Geek 101, a weekly showcase of music Melbourne made music, Blinky has presented a blend of upcoming music producers and also shared his own unique tunes on a weekly basis.
In between playing at gigs like Earthcore and Kiss My Grass and supporting international acts including Andy Moor, Meat Katie and Martin Roth, Blinky has also found the time to run a club night in collaboration with Melbourne DJ Ben Evans, the two have experienced overwhelming acclaim with their regular Interview parties and have also had the honor of running Melbourne's Gatecrasher 2006 party.
Whether it be live, in the studio or on radio, Blinky is undeniably a working part of Melbourne's fast paced dance music scene. Already garnering vast success with Beat Geek 101, Interview and his live performances, 2010 is shaping up to be the biggest year yet for Blinky who is currently is the first stages of writing his debut artist album for national release in stores by the end of the year.
At this stage there seems to be no end to the Blinky saga. |
