Yeah I dont see anything either. I think Made said they werent going to bring anything in terms of lasers this year. Part of a new going green initiative. Every tent will have a boombox and artists are just asked to play each song one by one. |

The after party situation blew LOADS last year.
I hate this exclusive that MADE/ULTRA do. Atleast with WMC it's quite obvious in the PERFECTO PRES.. who the "SPECIAL GUEST" will be.. or for ANJUNABEATS "SPECIALS GUESTS". |
oh no...not this again...

BIG +1. IT BLEW. |

Nah dude. That was a big problem. Having a few artists as "Exclusive" - fine.. go ahead.
But to not announce 1 single after party until the day OF?? Lol.
I went to Sunday Best and the Special Guest was Prins Thomas - they SERIOUSLY couldn't announce that earlier? lol. I only found out cuz my friends were @ the Yard before it moved into the Bell House or w/e it was. |

I said this in September when it came up, and I'll say it again....
However it sits with you personally, its a necessity on the part of the promoters. Think of it from a business standpoint... They are putting up an insane amount of money for this festival. They would be putting themselves at risk if they gave all their acts free reign to play afterparties whereever and with whoever they wanted to that weekend.
A lot of people could very well opt out of going to the actual festival to see their favorite djs, if those djs ended up playing at random afterparties... Why spend $80 to see Richie Hawtin @ EZ(for example) if you could spend a fraction of that cost to see him at an afterparty... |

I wouldn't have skipped out on EZ to attend Prins Thomas @ Sunday Best.
They didn't even announce their own after parties. It's their after party! They can make more money announcing one or two dj's on the not so hyped side. Leave the Special Guest as an actual surprise.
Not how anjuna is obviously above n beyond and perfecto is obviously oakie. |

word i deff understand what you mean, it is smart and at the same time kinda odd
me personally i wouldnt miss ez for a afterparty
ez is a once a year event, clubs are open every night
maybe this year they will announce the line-up for the after party slowly like they have been with their wmc lineups |

Very nicely put..I agree with you, but since they have a monopoly on their artists, might as well announce a few of them. No Armin at the afterparty last year, so much for taking advantage of the exclusive contract they had with him. Even when the afterparties were announced, the lineup wasnt impressive. I understand the business standpoint of it, it makes sense, they are a business at the end of the day, but I look at it more from a customer standpoint since thats what I am. I wouldnt skip on the festival though even if my favorite artists played at any afterparty. |

Yeah, I totally hear you. As a customer, you can obviously ask for whatever you want!
I was just trying to explain the rationale behind it, is all. People bitched and complained in September, which kind of surprised me, because the reasoning seemed pretty obvious. Yeah, in a perfect world, it might be a little different. But its a very small gripe if you consider how great the whole weekend was last year.
Maybe they will change things up this year btw...who knows. The Made-Event TA name is online pretty often...I'm sure the are taking note of what people have to say about everything. |

I completely agree, people will always complain, including myself, but when it comes down to it this whole weekend is worth it. |

| Honestly I hate to sound like a cheeseball but I hope Sean gets a spot at the Zoo....he was supposed to play last year but couldnt cuz he had a baby girl that week. I think the NY crowd would love him :) |
