Trend of Negativity?

Hey
As of late I have noticed that people are taking alot of stuff written on this board WAY too seriously, or in the wrong way. Please remember that the majority of things posted here are people's personal opinions. They are neither right, nor wrong. Please don't lose site of this. Everyone is entitled to think and feel however they want about any issue. I have seen a new trend of negativity grow over the last couple weeks in both threads I have and have not participated in. I know people like Mizzuno know that my opinion of Armin van Buuren does not reflect on the respect I have for him. Constructive critism can be really cool when we all debate about things important to us. On the other hand when it gets nasty (many examples the last couple weeks) nobody wins. Thanks, and please post your reactions to this. Am I the only one who feels this way? |

debates are awesome cause you can learn quite a number of new things about your fav dj. but when a debate turns into an all out war with name calling, swearing and the like that's not cool. and yeah we've all done it one way or another (i try not too hehe). and i agree with ya guangzhou, everything stated her is opininated. but let's not give our opinions while putting down other peoples.

| its just another word for him being a nut case! but back to the subject. yes there have been some uncalled for statements being made. but usually in the end things have gotten worked out. sometimes people do get a little to personal but its just usually when they feel they or someone else has been offended. sometimes its hard to know what emotion is there. when everything is just typed words. so a lot of times things get taken the wrong way. well anyways thats how i feel. but im sure we dont really dislike anyone because of some petty little arguments. we may have them but im sure were all mature enough not to take them to heart. peace! xoxoxoxox to all. |

although i think its not ideal for arguments/disagreements to take place, its good.. as Lynx says..
tho sometimes it goes too far.
with opinions and arguments.. people get a better understanding of trance and the djs... its good in a way.. just hope that some people don't take it as seriously =) |

yeah eyes is right, when we talk, the actual words thast come out of our mouth are only 17% of what we are actually sayin, the rest being made up in tone, expression, gesture and all that. So u can only see 17% of what im saying here :p so yeah its dead easy to take things the wrong way.
But i think 9 out of 10 ppl on this forum know they are cool with everyone, so if someone writes something maybe a little offensive, then we know to take it light-heartedly. Of course theres the odd person here or there that just takes things way too seriously... no names mentioned :)
All in all i dont think theres anywhere near as much agro on this forum as is in some others, and thats simply coz everyone is in wicked on here :D

| i believe the forums here have changed greatly in the recent weeks/months with the heavy influx of newbies. i dont necessarily think this is a bad thing, i just find myself contributing less and less to the threads here. i cant say that all these new people are bringing a bunch of hostility, cause i certainly remember it from the earlier, pre-2001 days of the forums too. with the new people i see quite a bit of retread onto topics we discussed ages ago, and this maybe the reason that i dont contribute all that much. i think that swamper is doing a great job with the site tho, i know how difficult and how long it takes to figure out even simple problems in HTML, Java what have you. i think we will continue to grow tho and with a greater base of experience, ideas and background there will be seemingly more hostility/negativity, but i believe that most of the people here are not intentionally trying to hurt others, and besides its a forum on the internet, its not like you will be running into these people on the streets everyday, or that youll recognize them, unless they wear some sort of 'avatar based mask'. hmm now thats an idea, too bad i dont have one. peas. |

hahaha... ye the site has changed drastically over the past few months, its not JUST about music discussion anymore, its a lot more of a community... I mean yeah before we were all great and all, but over say the last 4 months its turned into a real mega community :D i think the tiny bit of hostility we've had recently is a rarity to be honest. Ive been on this site about 2 years now, and ive ony ever seen bitching like there was week before last twice before.. so that says something :)

| yeahhh for sure!!! like i said earlier...this forum's the best i've been in....none of that hostility like everywhere else. everyone's entitled to their opinion on here and usually everybody respectz them. i couldn't think of a better word for dis place now then a community. :) good one. |
