math is not exciting (pg. 2)

Nobody believes me when I say this, but this is an exciting math trick bound to amaze anyone who thinks they've listened to BT - Dynamic Symetry thoroughly.

I found this out all by myself.

First off, understand this. Dynamic Symetry is the second track on BTs album, This Binary Universe. The first song is All that Makes us Human, which is 8 minutes and 15 seconds long.
Take this number, 8:15, which is 495 seconds. Remember this.
Now, we need the number of seconds for the whole CD.
All that makes us Human, 495 seconds
Dynamic Symmetry, 11:23 = 683 seconds
The Internal Locus 10:27 = 627 seconds
1.618 11:34 = 694 seconds
See You On The Other Side 14:23 = 863
The Antikythera Mechanism 10:06 = 606
Good Morning Kaia 8:11 = 491

take into crucial note that the first and last long are almost identical in song length.
Now, add all the seconds together and you get 4459 seconds in length for the whole CD. They may vary by a second or 2 depending on whether this is straight of the disc, the codec used to rip from a CD, or source of a digital download.

Now what you want to do you take the very last second of the entire disc, which would be the 4459th second, and subtract 495 seconds. We are effectively removing the length of "All That Makes us Human" (495 seconds) from the end of the disc.
At this point, you are at the 3964th second of the disc, almost at the very end of 6th song, The Antikythera Mechanism.
Now, you can either create a rip of the Antikythera Mechanism reaching up ONLY to this part of the song (9:54?), or you can find someone to play this song in reverse from this point. So you need to set yourself up to play TAM in reverse from 9:54 to 0:00.
But you will also need to play Dynamic Symmetry in tandem.

(at the same time)
Play Dynamic Symmetry (the full song).
Play The Antikythera Mechanism (from 9:54 to 0:00) in reverse.

They are the same song.

What level of math are you studying?

i tried the thing with this binary universe and it didn't work for me. the melodies sound similar, but not identical. there are a lot of sounds that are in one song that are simply not in the other song at all (such as the baby koo'ing).

my process...

open ableton (switch to arrangement view)
pull both songs in on different layers
set all BPMs to be the same (so they play at their natural tempos)
go to 9:54 and delete anything in TAM after that point (which isn't much. the song is only 10:06)
reverse TAM
hit play

I wholeheartedly respect math's ability to tell us about the universe, and it's influence on logic, etc.

Relearning math after 4 years is about as dull as ing rocks though.

The internet has done awful things to me. I'd already seen every picture posted in this thread.
