Urban Torque® is very proud to have organized their first remix competition with our long time friend and supporter, Tom Middleton. The legendary Jedi’s first release on Urban Torque is now complimented with an array of new talent chosen by the man himself. The Hypnotizer remix competition winners are Shinji Pons, Roland Nights and tONKPROJECT. French – Japanese Shinji Pons’ remix is his production debut, while Roland Nights aka Danny Stott makes his second appearance on the label. Romania’s tONKPROJECT aka Laurentiu Zarzu is thriving in this industry with releases on Plastic City, Proton and Elevation.
Shinji Pons’ remix re-organizes the original’s elegant patterns with a simplistic approach that smoothes the groove. "This stood out for me with its elegant, minimal, spacious and super deep groove...Gonna drop this at 5am!" TM. Roland Nights’ take on Hypnotizer involves an intricate melody built on genuine musicality: it’s a taste of proper House music with lively, yet soft, rhythm. tONKPROJECT cuts deep with complex patterns and a regular chord stab that covets the classic early-doors underground sound.
It's my debut release for me (Shinji) so all your comments on the tracks are welcome of course;) .
