Hey guys,

I was wondering if you guys get the 3 year contract with their cellphone providers or you just pay the whole price for the phone and have no contract?

I'm looking for a smartphone and they are pretty expensive when you do not take a 3 year contract, here at least :)

Wow I thought our 18 month contracts were too long in the UK. I've not had many phones that lasted 2 years nevermind 3

Yeah man, 3 years is way too long for a contract.

3 years is long. I don't buy into the whole smart phone craze. I have an inexpensive Nokia brick phone. It has everything I need, good battery life, sound quality, and reception. I use my phone to talk and occasion text. I know stop having a boring phone, stop having a boring life.

You chip on tablets of stone and throw it in the direction the person you want to contact might be in, that's not a phone.

does it really hurt you to sign a 3 year deal? i've been with the same provider for maybe 8 years, as long as you have a good deal and you can upgrade your phone in about two years you should be fine.

Depends on where you live. I move every couple of years and my recent apartment has almost no bars for all cell companies except Cingular. So being stuck with the wrong carrier and having to walk outside in the middle of winter at night to have a conversation for 3 years might be a tad inconvenient.
