CELEBRATING FRICOTI'S 3 YR ANNIVERSARY!
alongside DJs Mir (Fricoti) & Ostrich (13 PERCENT)

Celebrating Fricoti’s 3 Year Anniversary and the 3rd and final series
of 13 PERCENT collaborations with Fricoti at Salon Daomé. Last year
these two local promoters invited Cassy of Perlon fame, and most
recently in March, Hello?Repeat label boss, Jan Krueger. We are proud
to welcome the Canadian debut of Boston’s very own, Charlie Levine and
Eli Goldstein aka Soul Clap. This dynamic duo has made quite a name
for themselves in 2009 with their cheeky re-edits of old school
classic jams, including releases on Wolf+Lamb and Airdrop.

On Thursday 1st of April, 13 PERCENT & FRICOTI’s honorary guest Soul
Clap will get a chance to charm their Montreal audience with their
deep, funky, disco and soulful house music. Soul Clap have earned
themselves a slot at Miami’s legendary Sunday School of Degenerates
event the weekend prior to their Montreal appearance – so expect them
to be armed to the teeth with plenty of fresh promos and their very
own repertoire of infamous re-edits. Artists they pay homage to with
their fun loving re-edits are R&B idles Aaliyah, Bobby Brown, Janet
Jackson, R. Kelly, including other 70s & Motown hits that your parents
used to get their groove on to. Their edits are always entertaining
and will leave you with an ear-to-ear smile throughout the night… a
healthier alternative to Botox, if you will. This event is set to take
place at Salon Daomé located at 141 Mont-Royal East. Also billed for
this evening are Fricoti resident Mir and 13 PERCENT’s very own,
Ostrich. Doors open at 10pm and ends at 3am.

$10 admission fee will be in effect all night long.

Soul Clap's Biography

Before today there was yesterday and after tomorrow is the future.
Elyte and Cnyce's paths were crossed for all time when a Sun Ra light
beam sent from Saturn collided with the P-Funk Mothership and sent
them tumbling to earth. Now, Soul Clap time travels on a musical
spaceship of dopeness...

The early years.
As children on earth, they were driven to understand the history of
dance music and found their teacher in original boston disco DJ Caril
Mitro who admitted them into the temple of Vinyl Connection (whose
members included Dimitri From Paris and Frankie Knuckles plus many
more). Caril taught Soul Clap that "house wears many hats" and
instilled the sounds of New York, Chicago, Detroit and Philadelphia
while fostering an addiction to digging that has become a worldwide
quest to acquire the best vinyl and download every good song on the
planetary-interweb.

Soul Clap's training goes beyond history lessons to mastering all the
elements of the DJ: knowledge, mixing, programming, performance and
experience. They honed their knowledge, Elyte taught a college course
about dance music and Cnyce worked for UK booking agency MN2S.

In between.
They locked themselves in a basement until their mixing was flawless
and traveled the universe observing the most advanced programmers
(Josh Wink, Carl Craig, Francois K). Then they went out into the world
to perform at Ministry of Sound in London, Paradiso in Amsterdam,
Avalon in Los Angeles, Rise in Boston, and in smaller places in New
York, Baltimore, Washington DC, Miami, Dallas, Las Vegas, San
Francisco, Chicago, Mars and Jupiter plus dancefloors in other
galaxies that you haven't heard. 20 years of experience has prepared
Soul Clap to free your mind, and your ass will follow.

The future.
By harnessing the past Soul Clap looks to the future, with forward
thinking productions and remixes, creative DJ sets and some of
Boston's best dance music events. Each summer they organize Dancing On
The Charles (one of Urb Magazine's six best outdoor parties in the US)
and every Wednesday they host Midweek Techno (Boston's longest running
techno night). They also broadcast live to planet earth on the weekly
Snack Pack Jack Attack Radio Show on Utopia Boston Radio and The
Adventures of Soul Clap Podcast. Always pushing new boundaries, always
traveling time and space, Soul Clap truly is the Great White Hope.
