yikes...if they are charging $15 for him, imagine what happens when they bring a good big name...
so much for free with RSVP or $10 express it.

Your posts are always so cute and postive.

It's a special event as noted which is why their is an entry fee. Fifteen isn't much to begin with.

call it like i see it...

doesnt matter if its giant, perfecto, spundae, eventvibe whatever, when it comes to oakenfold i usually put up the trainwreck picture and its not like im in the minority when it comes to my thoughts on his mixing skills.

Honestly, let us know how he does. These thur giant events seem to get posted and come and go and on to the next week.

i think most would agree that there isnt much special about oakey.

from a marketing/business standpoint setting him up as special event $15 sets a bar for the truly big acts if they make it to OC on thursday nights.($25+ here we come)

Just might end up being in the OC twice this week :wtf:

Oakie's mixing isn't always on point, but I can assure you it's definitely gotten a lot better again and he's been playing much better music these days. He always delivers some great golden oldies as well.

I treat it more like a nostalgic night than anything else...

Should be a great party.

Ryan Sage is enough of a reason to go - awesome DJ.

See some of you there :)

Seem to remember it was a good night last time he played at Vanguard. Don't think I can survive going out two nights in a row though (and working the next day)!

I never commented on his skills as a DJ I just personally don't feel like 15 is much when someone like Tiesto is charging 60 as a starting price. I've seen tons of events at local clubs with local DJ's and lower tier talent at more than 15. I've even seen raves lately charge more than that.

Whether Oakenfold is worth that or not is definitely up to the person going but I've been to many events where I've seen people charged much more for people less known than someone like Oakenfold.

No negativity or hate we're all entitled to our opinion sir and thats how I feel is all :)

I'm on the same page as most. I'll always appreciate what he's done but not who he became.

I own alot of his records and CD's and the last time I saw him was at Nocturnal a years ago and he actually mixed properly and had a good set. Haven't seen him live since.

I have been hearing more positive things lately however much like Kristina has posted on here about him. I'm hoping to be surprised and also looking forward to hearing some old favorites if he pulls them out.

Either way I look forward to Ryan's set as always and being surrounded by some great people. That's always enough for me even on nights when we've had talent I'm not a fan of. :)
