Sat nite in SD - need recommendations...

what are the best places for decent edm music in the gaslamp on Sat nites assuming there is no major name dj in town? also info on any cool lounges, etc., worth checking out as well would be great.

stingaree is a cool spot, they play edm there on the rooftop. progressive house, edm that gets radio play(kaskade, dirty south etc etc) i'd recommend that spot.
other cool venues
on broadway due to its massiveness
Envy/Ivy rooftop at Andaz hotel
Siren at SE hotel
Voyeur ive only been to once, but i had a blast, its pretty tiny in there though.

i've been to On Broadway and the Ivy rooftop before....
sounds like Stingaree might be a good choice... any feedback on Onyx?
i got an email from the Hard Rock for $129 for sunday including 2 tix to the Angello show... but gonna be hard to do and be productive on monday lol... |

ya i posted that sunday deal in the LA angello thread last month. sounds like a winner of a deal for the Hard rock. but i hear you on the monday.
ive never been to onyx, but they have that in house take over with ideal which looks promising based on who they are bringing in. if its a good weather day, that stingaree rooftop is pretty sweet place to be.
Stingaree is the place you end up having 45 minute wait if you arrive after 10. so what we do is go there say 915 and get in and walk thru the exit and get a stamp. then we go somewhere to have some drinks.
then come back to sting at 11 or later and enter thru the corner entrance on 6th.
another cool rooftop spot is across the street from stingaree at the JBAR on 4th floor of hotel solamar.

Onyx is really fun but a small venue. Its mainly house at the bottom room and top 40 and electro upstairs.
OB is only fun when they have a headliner. Spin is always fun but in oldtown (10min taxi ride), not really in downtown SD.
Stingeree is legit, but most of the time the crowd is lame and the DJ's there are serato kings putting 10 tracks together at once with a Benassi bassline.
Also, check out seensd.com for a guide of most of the stuff going down here in SD. |

Voyeur has Calvin Harris and Burns on Sunday.
Voyeur Saturdays are almost always sold out - 600 people or so. More of the electro night. |

come to Voyeur on Sat man, we have Super Mal (awesome nu disco act) and if you haven't been then at least experience it. |
