...I really wish the clubs down there would do more with bringing in Quality DJs...
the venues in AC are sooo under utilized...its a in shame...
I know its politics down and club managers are only concernd with Bar Sales but seriously, AC could have some killer partys
Casbah, IMO is the most under utitlized club in Jersey, the club is perfect cause it streches out. And in the summer, there is the outside patio that gives you a great view of the beach. The Club would be killer for someone like Calderone or Lawler to play
MurMur, is a great set up cause its small but you have the small room feeling like Cielo. Someone like Roger Sanchez or Sander K.
MixX has actually brought in some great DJs in the past but they kinda veerd off the direction. SHM would be dope in there
The Pool: eventhought the sound in there blows, the possibilites are endless in there. I know Area does a majority of the bookings there but they should be doing at least one big name DJ a month there.
Providence..well someone can cater to the hip-hop/mash-up community
The bookinsgs in AC lately have been very redundent. its the same ol mash-up DJs/ celebrity DJs who spin off their ipod
BTW...i'm going on a 2-day bender in AC this weeknd. looking fwd to it:toocool: |

I agree that AC clubs are underutilized. Getting there and back from Philly is so easy as NJ Transit runs all night. But the "DJs" they are booking aren't worth the effort most of the time.
It's funny you mentioned Providence. I didn't know what it was about and decided to check it out. The music and crowd drove me out of there in about 30 minutes. |

| I agree with you Jim, but sadly, I think AC will turn for worse more and more now after the "Jersey Shore" since I think clubs will just book cheesier (and probably cheaper) DJ's to play for the increasing crowds this Summer will bring due to the show. Hopefully I am wrong and AC's clubs try to improve the amount of big DJ's they bring in. |
