No, you will soon realize with all the crazy stuff about to happen, that this show at some point went well beyond the question 'are they gonna make it back home or not?'. That's what's so nice about the Flashforward twist - it completely changed the game and the show's nature. |

I'm sorry but I started laughing when Widmore told Desmond that he was on the Island. Right when Des started picking at him and asking questions about where he was I knew he was gonna flip a when he found out. Hahahaha! He took the IV stand and started beating him with it. Typical typical Desmond. |

OMG BEST episode of the Season SOO far!!! FINALLY something is making sense...and of COURSE it would have been Desmond that was in the heart of it all...omg Eloise was soo civil toward Desmond upon first meeting I knew it was TOO good to last!!! This was just THE pivotal episode. Here, things START to get GOOD. soo cant wait for next week!!

omg i bet every viewer was like :nervous: :nervous: :nervous: :nervous: i def was!!! LOL on another note, i was more like HRMMM cuz now Widmore KNOWS about him marrying Penny and him having a grandson. or do u think hes known ALL this time??? (probably the latter, right?)
it was interesting how this was the first time Widmore was decent toward Desmond -- was he completely sincere? i still haven't figured that out yet. And how cooperative Desmond became afterward (the surprise on Widmore's face was totally evident). wow what a great episode!! |

I like the direction they're going in as they close up the show..all the important characters get an episode each showing them in the alternate world where Oceanic 815 never crashed. getting weird feelings that they have been or should have been somewhere else. looks like next week will be Hurley's episode..
random note--pretty weird that Sayid shot that dude in the eye, the guy who wears an eye patch in another alternate reality..does this somehow mean that one way or the other they will all end up facing somewhat similar consequences whether they crashed on the island or not? intriguing...
Desmond & Widmore sharing the infamous McCutcheon whisky..nice throwback to one of the memorable dramatic moments in Lost history where Widmore drank that whisky & royally fked up Desmond.
maybe some people feel that the show couldn't have dragged on more (it does seem like an inevitable war between good & evil is coming fast), but I love the characters on this show & I don't think I'd have gotten tired of seeing more stories involving Jack, Hurley, Sayid, Ben, Locke & so many others. Kate (as hot as she is) I don't care for much & the Aussie chick is plain annoying. Sun has always been a strong female character on the show. Jack may have lost his footing a bit during previous seasons but I think he's still the 'hero' of the show : ) |

the alternate reality is what will happen if everyone on the island took BSG up on his offers to "give them what they want"... we'd eventually see richard and his wife, we saw locke with helen, we saw jack having a purpose with a son, we saw sawyer not being a criminal, we saw hurley being the luckiest person in the world, ben being a teacher and not having to have the death of thousands of people on his conscious and have alex finally be happy.... problem is, it's all fake, it's all scripted...."recon" kind of pointed that out to me, with the hollywood mug, the cliches, the first scene that seemed like it was literally scripted...and when they figure out it's all fake/scripted/a dream/what have you, they'll all either go back to being dead(charlie/boone/etc etc)/go back to the island consciousness and i'm like 98% sure desmond will have something to do with it.
towards the end of the episode faraday told desmond that this is not how their life was suppose to go like. so, what i think is, desmond will team up with faraday in the alternate timeline, so it's two of them coming at everybody, meaning showing them they all knew each other back in the island. |
